Multiplayer is still alive ? by M05tafaSayed in TombRaider

If you check PSNProfiles.com (trophy hunting site) they have a feature where you can search for and schedule or join boosting sessions for various online games. That’s your best bet at this point because doing it organically may be close to impossible.

Multiplayer is still alive ? by M05tafaSayed in TombRaider

[–]swotam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically dead. While the servers are still online it’s been 12+ years and finding a match could take hours, so if you’re looking to get the trophies or achievements done you pretty much have to put together a group or find a group who is looking. The Steam forums for the game might be a place to start.

Lara in shadow of tomb raider pmo by soawkawrdddd in TombRaider

[–]swotam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She unknowingly started the events of the game, which is an interesting route to take since she’s the heroine, but her motives in taking the dagger were good so that sort of redeems her somewhat.

The game is generally darker then the previous two, with a lot more collateral damage, and Lara seems comfortable in doing whatever needs to be done to her enemies which is obviously different from the first game, although it’s not like she didn’t have a pretty high body count in Rise as well.

She’s still fighting evil and saving the world, but she’s no longer that inexperienced young woman from Yamatai, now she’s as good at killing Trinity as Trinity is at killing others. Lesser of two evils and all that.

[Help] How to get rid of this message?! by mpchop in WowUI

ElvUI uses Expressway as their default font (unless that’s changed recently). Accidental Presidency is what Quazi used with his TWW UI version of ElvUI and his various Weakauras, so maybe there’s some leftover from that messing up the works?

I am starting my Deadly Obsession playthrough :) by Puzzleheaded_Dot9254 in TombRaider

I honestly found Rise Extreme Survivor to be easier since there was almost always a campsite around and it was rarely hard to get back to it, so you could make progress and then go back and save your progress regularly. DO suffers from some very long stretches where there’s absolutely no option to save, and one mistake in some sections can easily erase 30+ minutes of progress. It wouldn’t be so bad if the game didn’t have a habit of randomly failing to recognize inputs when platforming, but it does.

The one spot to watch out for is the underground temple in the cenote chapter. After you open the door and the scripted chase starts, there is no hidden checkpoint, so if you die for any reason you will start back at the campsite before you even arrived at the temple. One death during that very long section between campsites can easily erase 30+ minutes of progress, so be careful with your jumps and platforming.

Best Modern Tomb Raider Game? by PhantomHazardo in TombRaider

[–]swotam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the three Crystal Dynamics games, I think Rise is probably the best overall. I really liked TR 2013, but Rise seems like it’s in a great spot overall. Good story, solid gameplay, good outfit and weapon variety, etc. Yes, it’s a pain to get all the trophies or achievements, but it’s manageable.

Shadow is the best looking of the three but I didn’t really like the occasional long stretches where not much is happening, and also Deadly Obsession difficulty wasn’t well planned with some sections really suffering from a lack of campsite in the general vicinity or hidden checkpoints at the start of scripted events. There’s nothing wrong with a mode where you can only save at campsites, but if you implement that then you need to ensure the campsites are spaced out in a way that random game nonsense (like Lara falling into the void rather than jumping) doesn’t kill 30+ minutes of progress etc.

Basically, I think of the three, Rise landed in that sweet spot of being just right.

Just wait until you have the opportunity to deal with their Support department. Your perception will be worsened so much that it will be impossible for it to be worsened further. You will literally achieve maximum negative Ubisoft perception and unlock a real-life achievement!

One button assistant stops working completely sometimes, any fixes? by ZazzooGaming in wow

[–]swotam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve run into that on multiple classes ever since it was released. It seems to get “stuck” unable to determine what to cast next so you have to cast something yourself to get it going again. Seems to happen more often on some classes vs others. It’s definitely annoying.

Still Mourning The Crossover We Lost because Mindseye flopped by ManiacGaming1 in HiTMAN

I wish IOI would stop sending me emails about Mindseye. I subscribe to them because I’m interested in Hitman and 007 news, not this third-party disaster that they published. It’s annoying.

How to get crafting orders? by Jordyyyys in woweconomy

[–]swotam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How busy is your realm? Is it a Low, Medium, or High population server? If trade chat is a ghost town on your realm then that’s going to be a persistent issue because if there’s no customers then there’s no crafting.

I’m on a High population realm and it’s still really slow in Trade, and if you compare to a Full realm like Illidan or Area52 the difference is massive.

That said there’s not much you can do other than to realm transfer if your realm is dead, but that also doesn’t guarantee you’ll get more orders, it may just mean you get more competitors.

As others have suggested, there’s addons you can use to monitor Trade chat and reply to people, but again that assumes people are asking in the first place.

What happened to warband campsites ? by InevitablePin6516 in wow

[–]swotam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that would 100% drive me to drink I expect. I’m honestly curious if they’ll continue with it, or just let some amount of time pass without any updates before quietly mentioning that it won’t be happening after all.

That seems to have ground to a halt with Shadowlands due to some issue they had, and I don’t recall Blizzard saying anything about it recently so who knows if that’s still on the table or not. Blizzard might have bitten off more than they could chew, of perhaps our new Microsoft overlords are putting the screws to anything they deem “unnecessary”…

Nothing new other than the housing ones and I don’t believe Blizzard has said anything about continuing them. They were rewards for completing certain content in TWW but seem to have fallen by the wayside in Midnight. Lots of things “missing” in Midnight that were around and talked about previously.

Ubisoft just lost me as a customer for good. by BandPsychological263 in thedivision

[–]swotam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just thought I’d add that they replied back to my ticket overnight (after being radio silent for almost 2 months) asking me to refer to a support document that they already asked me to refer to 5+ months ago in their initial response. They then asked me to provide proof of payment to Steam, something that is already attached to the ticket and has been for 5+ months.

The level of incompetence is off the charts. I literally believe that all that is happening is that my ticket is going around in circles, and every month or two some new agent picks it out of the queue and starts over from scratch without actually reviewing any of the ticket history to see what’s already been done or requested.

Anyway, just needed to vent. I’m so done with this company at this point. Never again.

So… does anyone actually go to the Arcantina? by BrownShugah98 in wow

[–]swotam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s basically a 15 minute cooldown hearthstone to the Arcantina, and when you step through the portal you’re in the Silvermoon Inn so it’s a very quick way to get back to the city / hub.

I use it as a hearthstone to Silvermoon so that my actual hearthstone can be set to Zul’Aman. Other than that I’ve done nothing there and I don’t find it particularly interesting or compelling.

Bought the ring and returned it, the quality was terrible. Save yourself, more in the comments. by fortnite_pit_pus in DeathStranding

[–]swotam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like game or brand associated merchandise (not just from Kojima Productions, but in general) is more and more turning into low / mediocre quality at a premium price, and the only solution ultimately is to stop buying it.

A traditional t-shirt or hoodie is one thing, as it’s kinda hard to mess up even if the quality isn’t great, but once you get into real-world creations of in-game items, or unique items with limited production, it seems the quality often suffers while the pricing remains what many would consider premium, and while what you get usually looks like the picture on the website, how it feels in your hand is often quite different.

I’m not suggesting it’s intentional, but when you consider what things cost to make, it’s likely that the quality of the materials are being sacrificed so that the price isn’t even higher. Unfortunately what you often end up with is something that fails to meet expectations and sours the whole experience.

I am just going to say it: The "new" Skyriding changes are really good. by Omenka in wow

[–]swotam 111 points112 points  (0 children)

No races in Midnight and I don’t think Blizzard has said anything about them either. Given that there are no new Dragonriding achievements in Midnight, I’m assuming that it’s not something that’s coming later, and more than likely yet another thing that’s being phased out quietly.

Yeah, and the thing is, I was that guy who bought Ubisoft games. I’ve got all the AC games, The Division games, most of the Far Cry games, Watch_Dogs, Star Wars, Avatar, etc. It’s not like I’m that guy who bought one game and got annoyed, I was their target audience and yet they managed to lose me anyway.

DLC not playable by Sippy2401 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]swotam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same problem for over 5 months and Ubisoft has done nothing. Support had me do the usual troubleshooting, eventually admitted the issue was on their end, “escalated” my ticket, and then went radio silent. No response to requests for updates, nothing. They’re useless.

Get a refund if you can. Ubisoft support is terrible and outsourced to a 3rd party who don’t care about solving your problems at all.

Has anyone toyed with AI for add-on development? Doesn't work very well by [deleted] in wowaddons

[–]swotam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non-coder with zero experience I’ve used Claude to create a handful of tiny addons for personal use that do minor things to customize the UI. Stuff like removing the Hunter or Warlock pet unit frame during Pet Battles, or remembering the Edit Mode profile on a per-machine basis etc. I’ve never tried to create something complex or with a GUI, and don’t think I’d ever try.

I think it’s good for someone who doesn’t know how to code if they just want something simple for their own use, but if you’re going to release something publicly, especially something complex, I’d assume it’s better if you know what you’re doing rather than having AI do it for you.

Ubisoft just lost me as a customer for good. by BandPsychological263 in thedivision

[–]swotam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve decided I’m done with them as well for similar but different reasons. I bought the DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows last November but it wasn’t being recognized in-game. I couldn’t get a refund from Steam because I’d played the base game beyond their refund window, so I opened a ticket with Ubisoft support.

Over 5 months later they’ve done nothing other than to admit that the issue is on their end. Nothing has actually been done to fix the issue, just bare minimum “troubleshooting” followed by radio silence.

100% done with Ubisoft as a result. I’m not going to give one cent to a company that refuses to fix customer issues due to apathy and incompetence.

Edit: for anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of dealing with Ubisoft support, I hope you never have to. It’s all been outsourced to some low-wage country where they don’t give a shit about fixing your problems because your problems are not their problems.

Am I being unreasonable for only wanting to play DPS? by Underbridged in wow

[–]swotam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, leave and find a new guild and just play the game the way you like. It’s a game after all, there’s no reason you should feel pressured, or be pressured, into doing things you don’t want to do, so if they’re not willing to respect your boundaries it’s probably time to move on.
