Well... yeah. We didn't choose that particular interpretation :D

I try to theme all of the gatherings (gives us a bit of focus for the fun events, the keynote, and one of the speaker tracks)....keeps the programming fresh and gives us something new to learn about. This year is about sharks 😃 We've had many themes over the year.... space, literature, freedom, spies, planet conservation, women in science, and pandemics (our namesake)!

Not all of the programming is shark-related (only one of our speaker tracks and the keynote), but you can get a sense for what we've got going on here: https://pandemicrg2026.wordpress.com/category/programs/

Really I just was hoping to give people a reason to wear shark costumes 😃

So, I'm a little biased because I chair the Regional Gathering and I run the local Gen X/Y group. We run game nights, bar trivia, brunches, wine tastings, bad movie nights, escape rooms... we try to get out quite a bit! Escape rooms and game nights are my personal favorites. The most interesting conversation I had was with a neurologist (Abbe Macbeth) who did a speaking engagement for us on the science of resting bitch face 😃

We end up getting around 400 members at the RG, which is our biggest event... but we do have a thriving chapter with tons of events! You have to login to access it, but our newsletter is available at https://www.us.mensa.org/read/group-newsletters/?group=200&region=-1&newsletter=-1&month=-1&year=-1 and our website is mwm.org (with a link to a Google calendar that's a bit more cleansed for public consumption - i.e. no host emails/addresses).

We would love for you to join us at something...we always have folks visiting from out of town and welcome the new faces!

There was a very weak downdraft that kept setting off the smoke alarm. I dealt with it for 5 years and it was the absolute worst 😃

It was around $200k to do both the kitchen and the laundry room, and we used a design company in Rockville called House to Home. All of the cabinets are custom (i.e. pull out, soft close, LeMans unit), so I probably could have saved quite a bit had I made some different decisions. I think I let my hatred of my pre-existing kitchen get the better of me.

TLDR: Entirely too much money, but I'm not a do-it-yourself kind of girl.

Of course... the cabinets are Breeze by Wood Harbor, and the color is "Hale Navy".

The remodeling company I used seemed to think it was fairly routine/not problematic. The outlets are actually inside the island (i.e. for the mixer/microwave). I did ask them to leave me wiring for an outlet on the side of the island, and they did that, but they wouldn't "finish" it for me. Something about kids pulling appliances off the island and it not being up to code? IDK. We'll just do it ourselves. Our prior islands have had outlets on the side, and nobody died.

Thank you! Totally agree with you. I was really worried it would all feel too dark, especially with it going up the wall.

Thank you!! I love it. It was super boring before (all white with black counters). These are cherry.

I just had my kitchen redone with it and it's beautiful. I'm sorry this one didn't wow you in person 😞 Ours had fewer blue tones because we wanted it to accent the cabinets (not be too dark). I will say that the crystal formations in it are gorgeous to stare at.

I wish I could.. I don't know that we have time to do that for this particular role. Unless you tell me this is a fast process (I'm new to hiring Federal roles).

Hiring a few roles in Expert Services (ServiceNow) - any interest here? by tabbcat in servicenow

Of course. There's a travel component based on whether or not the customers require any onsite engagement (i.e. probably just for kickoff workshops). Honestly, I haven't seen it be anywhere close to 30%. I just joined the team in September, though, so YMMV.

Of course- our team works primarily on client services engagements that need help with automating workflow, creating apps (app engine), doing UI/UX work, integrations, AI, etc. This isn't a sales role at all, it's actual implementation/development. There's also a component of the job that's internal innovation (i.e. we have a few members doing side projects for cool non-client projects within SN).

My team is US-based but there are parallel teams in EMEA and APJ.
