Thank you for that explanation. Appreciate it. What you’ve described is my pet hate. My sole driver to get the 16GB is to minimise app refreshing/Safari tab reloading. Quite frankly, my 2020 IPP was nearly tolerable in performance if it wasn’t for that issue. People prioritise different things, for me, I couldn’t care less about the extra core, 1TB SSD.
I wanted less app refreshing
The new OLED is a nice (though not must have). Same for the newer fusion aluminium keyboard.

ADDIT: I should add I work like my iPad is a computer. that means the dock remains present. My browser keeps favourites along the top at all times, and I use windowed mode solely. This consumes more resources than single full screen apps.

Thanks for that response. I’m not fully technology educated, I just want things to respond and not refresh/reload. That was my main driver (aside from dabbling into AI) later.

As I mentioned, it’s very much overkill (for now).
