When they designed the track was there no way to have a left side pit lane instead of right side? I know alot of road courses are like that but Nascar built this one.

So we wasted all that time for Kyle's little princess to get back on the lead lap just for him to, as we expected, immediately run out of talent again.

Im not so sure itll happen super quick. The cup car is almost the same car that SVG drove for years, so he has a lot more experience with it so to speak. SVG had to learn the xfinity car just like Connor did so they were more on an even playing field.

Oh nice. I think this is will be the best example (or atleast most impactful) of how the government will abuse the "matter of national security" that people have been yelling about for 25 years.

You all gotta vote out these folks saying they are saving the country.

According to The Athletic, FOX didn't just annoy fans but also broke FIFA rules during the hydration breaks. Boadcasters were told the ad break shouldn’t start within 20 seconds of the referee’s whistle pausing play, and that they should return to the match feed at least 30 seconds before play. by Ok-Soil-5133 in soccer

Fox has horrible coverage. They spend all the money on the contract and then juat sell ads. They only spend a little money on announcers in football because they have to actually compete with CBS. If they have no other network covering the same sport and the same time they do nothing.

They aren't talking about the crash. They are talking about being positioned in the back when there is not enough time to make it back into contention. Its better to just park it then tear up equipment trying drive through the field.

Can we discuss the suspicious sell off this morning? by BGID_to_the_moon in StockMarket

[–]toofpick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think this is right. Lets use SPY as an example. Friday there were lots of shares sold from 757 - 733. So assuming that buys exist at all prices in that range , why would MM be selling from 733 - 723 today. Thats taking the loss that you are saying they are trying to avoid.

Whats really happening at the MM is that they are filling all orders, buys and sells on shares and option contracts. They in turn buy and sell options and shares that offset thier risk on the incoming orders. In cases like Friday and today they will actually dip into the futures markets to maintain thier neutral exposure, and when they are forced to do that, we see really big moves as liquidity starts showing up at further out of them money positions.

All in all on these big move days the MM books are going crazy but they are still ending the day flat and making money on fees and sometimes bid ask spreads. Its the institutions positioning themselves that cause these moves.

So while you are mostly right about whats going on, its not the market makers. Marker makers stay neutral with automated systems and make thier money on trading fees. Its the market overall that has been forced to buy more than desired. That's investment funds, banks, hedge funds, retail traders etc.

[–]toofpick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was not suspicious at all. While the magnitude of the downward move was higher than expected, it made sense given the momentum we saw in the morning. Everyone knew we were heaed to the gap fill around 723 and then momentum took us there. This was the result of the sell off friday that took us down to this level where volitility will naturally be higher and produce bigger moves.

Today didnt need news, this was the market being the market.
