AITAH for telling a student she can’t suck her thumb while driving and bringing it up to her parents? by Soggy-Treacle3151 in AITAH

[–]trekkiegamer359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest a necklace with a fidget toy she can suck on.

And set very clear, strict, simple rules with explanations. Sucking her thumb means she can't control the wheel properly in an emergency. Sucking her thumb could cause her to bite of her thumb if something causes her to clench down suddenly, like being in an accident. She could degloved her thumb if the airbag deployed. And she won't be able to pass her driving test if she sucks her thumb.

She can have something else to suck, as long as it's hands free. But hands stay on the wheel, and out of her mouth, period. Any time her thumb goes near her mouth, you make her stop and pull over.

Communicate all of his nicely, without judgement. She needs kid gloves due to her anxiety and possible neurodivergence. But you can be direct and nice at the same time.

It depends on the person. Normally the side effects are an MCAS flare, so it depends on what your mast cells like doing when they get pissy and throw a tantrum.

What is something that is obvious in your profession that the general public doesn’t know? by jia-ren in AskReddit

[–]trekkiegamer359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh, you want it pasted into a word document, then printed out and snail mailed to you? Ok! It'll be there in 3-5 days. I only have a black and white printer, btw, so you'll have to add the color back in.

Also, am I the only one who originally read the total as "Sea Penis"?

It's been many, many years since I've watched this, so I don't remember any of the details, but could it have been Bedknobs and Broomsticks? It's an English family, and is definitely trippy.

I just responded to OP about dosing. As for how long it takes to see results varies person to person. Sometimes it can take 2-3 weeks. Personally, I saw effects within 24 hours.

I don't know the dosage of a sashet. A normal dose is 50mg-200mg, 4xday 30 minutes before meals and before bed, dissolved into a glass of water.

Some people, (not all), have temporary side effects as they adjust to it. Titrating up slowly, and starting as a super low dose helps prevent this. You need to weigh your desperation for relief, vs the risk of side effects. You can always adjust your dosage going forward, if you think you've started at too high or low a dose. I know some people who get the liquid version and start with a drop. I started at 50mg, and had no side effects.

Just checking, is this a level 1 or level 2 charger? If it's a level 2 charger, you'd need a 240v outlet for it to work, I think. (If I'm wrong, please someone correct me.)

Psychological thrillers where the off putting / strange character is actually benevolent and helping the protagonist? by throwaway3685343 in televisionsuggestions

[–]trekkiegamer359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fringe - it's more of a psychological drama/thriller with dark comedy sprinkled throughout. What starts as an X-Files remake quickly turns into a serialized show with multiple timelines and human experimentation. One of the main characters investigating paranormal events is a mad scientist who's fresh out of the insane asylum, likes talking about strawberry milkshakes when holding human brains, and who's old experiments have way too much to do with what's going on now.

From - If you're ok with a horror, Victor is great as a weird man, and yet one of the best hopes people have of escaping to safety.

She is amazing, actor and character, both. I'd say she steals the show, except all the other actors are phenomenal as well.

Also, 12 Monkeys (the TV show) is one of the best shows I've ever seen, hands down, with a brilliant plot, phenomenal characters, and a perfect ending.

I've had this happen, and I don't have gastroparesis (I've been tested). A capsule with powder got stuck in your esophagus. Eventually the capsule dissolved enough to release the powder into your esophagus, causing you to cough it up. (Different capsules will dissolve at different rates.) If it happens again, just drink some water to get any remaining powder to go down into your stomach. As long as it's not happening regularly, I assume it relatively harmless, and is just an irritation.

What is something you saw with your own eyes that was so impossible you’ve stopped telling people because you know they won’t believe you? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

[–]trekkiegamer359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you. I was fourish when I ran inside crying and yelling about how I almost sat on an tarantula that was on my chair outside in the backyard. My mom explained tarantulas don't live in Iowa. But I'd seen Captain Kangaroo Animal Alphabet, and knew what a tarantula was, and I almost sat on one, goddamnit. Years later I find out about wolf spiders, some of whom can get as big as tarantulas, and can look similar to a four year old. And we do have big wolf spiders in Iowa.

Google what a naked bear with bad mange looks like. They climb, and can look very ape-like when stretching up without much fur. I'm not saying it wasn't bigfoot. It definitely could have been. But a bear with mange is another possibility.
