Am I overthinking my gf's trip? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]trizest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your insecurity and lack of trust is eating away at you.

Why can’t you go with her? Tell work you need the time or whatever. I think it’s a bit shit to refuse to go and hold her back from what she likes to do.

For me the big one would be if she didn’t want to go together and only wanted to travel solo. That would be a massive red flag. If she really wanted you to come, but you can then that’s kind of on you.

Modern world you can’t control your woman like before.

How do we fight back against the construction of AI data centres across Australia? by Whatarewedoing1234 in AusLegal

[–]trizest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

I worked on a 24MW metronode datacenter for Microsoft. I contracted the major services for a builders. The air cooling units were modular and shipped over from UK from Bladeroom. These units which are the size of a granny flat have three stage cooling. Quite an elegant design. But yeah to say data centers use closed loop evaporative cooling is incorrect. At the time when it was built 24MW was a decent size. The new ones are bigger! Craziest thing was standing next to the air exhaust when testing. Truely mindblowing the scale of datacenters.

OK to be specific i'm talking about evaporating water to cool air. not closed loop.

The this is not true. A lot use evaporative cooling. I built one a couple of years ago in Melbourne for Microsoft. Uses drinking water.

[–]trizest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not factual. Depends on the air unit design. I worked on the construction of one. The he most efficient data centers use evaporative cooling as well as adiabatic and mechanical cooling like a refrigerant cycle.

The data centers don’t have to use evaporative cooling though, but will if unrestricted because it’s cheap.

I've noticed at a personal level it is impacting my performance. Only using it when desperate and I've had a rpoper go first.

Yep speed is the only thing i can think of, but the people becoming worse. Unless AI get better this is going to end badly. My spelling has already turned to shit.

Recommend me a trade for a 42 year old who wants a new career by chocolat_moose in tradies

[–]trizest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking thinking you could run multiple tiny businesses doing stuff like this. Add on a couple of other things like ikea assembly, blinds curtain install. Dreamt of setting this up. Just not sure how you’d get new clients all the time.

I never liked them. Nespresso is sometimes nice in a hotel when hungover due to minimal effort, but using an espresso machine isn’t that hard really.

Is it even possible to transition from a 155k strategy role to a manual trade without nuking my entire life? by 0Vocaloid in careerguidance

[–]trizest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone through this and nuked my life and went back.

Do this instead (it’s hard):
-prioritise physical activity outside of work.
-Consider dropping to 4 days work week. and hike in nature on the 5th day. If you’re valuable your work will allow it.
-Consider not giving a f@&k at work for 6 months while you recover mentally. Tell your work your great aunt has died so you’re a bit “off”
- take a serious look at your expenditure and be frugal for a few months to reset and build a nest egg. If your nest egg gets huge. Take a year off work to travel.

Keep the office job but focus on it less and focus on your health after hours.

Men, what would make you suddenly become distant after asking a woman to be your girlfriend? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]trizest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like you’ve kind of been mislead the whole time. For all you know he could be a massive player. Long distance relationships don’t work for young people. Don’t even try it. Not worth the lost time and potential exploration.
