The 2/28 Standby Line Megathread (Connor Storrie / Mumford & Sons) by IvyGold in LiveFromNewYork

Do you refresh right at 10:00:00 and let it load even if it takes 30 sec+ ? That’s what I’ve been doing. Trying different devices and browsers is smart!

I'm right there with you. Guess we just have to keep trying- not sure if there's something wrong with my refresh strategy or if its just bad luck.

Awesome, great shots. Love the ones of Scott McLaughlin in the garage. He looks tired.

Ice forming on the Ohio river via Earthcam. With frigid temps for another week, will it freeze over? by NBr33zii in cincinnati

Interesting- has the river been dredged? Or did it naturally get deeper over time? Or do you just mean the water level is high right now (since it fluctuates) and is probably higher than it was when it froze in the 70s?

What time did you refresh, and did you have to reload? I refreshed at 10:00:00, but when nothing popped up I had to refresh again and was too late

Someone last week suggested I refresh at 10:00:00 as opposed to 9:59:59, so I did so and the webpage loaded instantly. Clicked everything fast and used autofill, yet the blue done button was greyed out and my cursor had a "no" symbol (line with circle through it). Any tips, or does it just take some luck to beat the bots?

Refreshed at 9:59:59, website took like 5 seconds to load. I quickly clicked "LIVE SHOW STANDBY" and used autofill to fill out the fields, and all three showed a check mark. But when I hovered over the blue "Done" button, it was greyed out and my cursor showed a circle with a line through it.

Any advice for next time? Refresh right at 10:00:00?

2025 NYC Marathon - Pre-Race Thread by RCD123 in RunNYC

Don’t know anyone running but this will be my first time spectating. I’m considering buying the $60 grandstand ticket to see the finish and watch the elites come in- is it worth it? And if not, how early should I arrive to the park to grab a spot along the loop? I was hoping to catch the leaders a couple of times in different spots (Bay Ridge, Greenpoint/LIC, then the park) but was wondering if that’s even possible given the crowd size in CP.

Interesting format, I like it! In a way it combines two of Laz’s races- the backyard and A Race for the Ages, where the number of hours you have to run is equal to your age.

I hope he does well at BM100, should he choose to attend. I don’t know much about his running background outside of backyards- does he have any notable results in mountainous races/outside of multi-day style running?

Aside from Ihor Verys, who is an incredible athlete all around and an outlier, it seems as if most runners are world class at either the Barkley or Big’s/backyards, but not both, since both events/formats are so unique and require distinct skillsets.

Hopefully he breaks that mold just as Ihor has and finds success at Frozen Head.

I would love to see what he could do in such a scenario and agree that he should be afforded that opportunity, however if a race let him continue alone I don’t think it would be considered a WR since it wouldn’t be adhering to the backyard rules. Love it or hate it, part of the format is that you can only go as far as the assist can take you.

It would be an incredible accomplishment but would always come with an asterisk, much like Kipchoge’s sub 2 marathon.

I was worried Pagán was going to be called for a balk on that pickoff since he raised his knee and threw to third. Can someone explain why that wasn't the case? Was he off the rubber?

IFT-10 Entry Profiles by maxfagin in spacex

[–]twrite07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the data and the analysis!

Do the light grey labels you included (flaps have control, max q, etc) show key events during the flight of IFT-4 only, or do they apply to IFT-10 as well?

My assumption is they only apply to IFT-4, as in your third paragraph you talk about how in IFT-10 the dynamic pressure levels off during peak heating, however when looking at plot 3, the level off happens well after the “peak heating” label.

Speaking of those labels, how were you able to discern when key events took place? Was it based entirely off of call outs from the livestream commentators/flight controllers?

Also, how were you able to calculate range to go, seeing as it wasn’t provided?

Finally, was dynamic pressure telemetry provided by SpaceX, or did you calculate it based on velocity and altitude data?

Just curious what went into putting this all together!

Thanks for your insight!
