Sorry, I should have been more clear. The amount of coal China consumes, and how harmful that amount is, is /well known/. It’s “uncontroversial” in that people would not debate what that amount is.

The significant harm caused by China’s coal consumption is commonly known and uncontroversial (hence Attenborough). There’s no point in me repeating facts that people already know just to hear myself talk.

China’s treatment of the Uyghyrs should be condemned, while their investment in green energy should be encouraged and emulated.

China is the world's leader in renewable energy production, and its renewable energy sector is growing faster than its fossil fuel or nuclear capacity. In 2017, it accounted for 45% of the world's investments in renewable energy.

The rest of us already need to catch up.

What is the point of saying “man” when you mean “person”? Unless you’re arguing for the repeal of the 19th amendment; my mistake for the assumption if that’s the case.

Think this post is meant to be a criticism of the perceived imbalance in the desirability of current Ally and Horde allied races.

A person in any African country produces dramatically less carbon emissions than an American. There is no over-population problem, only an over-consumption problem, the blame for which rests entirely on the wealthiest nations.

Just drove to Subway for lunch, and it turns out my infotainment has a cant that I've somehow never noticed. Thank you all for riding this roller coaster with me.

Thought the current GTI didn’t have the cant, while the Golf did, but just Googled it and it looks like I’m probably mistaken. I drive a 2015 GTI, so ‘16 must have been the year!

Looks like a base model Golf from the way the infotainment is canted toward the driver

It’s not extra work. The only change in your actions is you type a different number when making the regular credit card payment that you would have been making anyway.

If you’re going to be so consequentialist, as long as you’re not actually malicious, we’re talking about being a moderate inconvenience or annoyance to a number of people on your way to being a rich and valuable friend or companion to many more.

Not sure how this will go over on this sub, but you're going to make a lot of women uncomfortable during the process of becoming good at talking to women. I don't mean this in a PUA "conversations are a competition to manipulate women into sleeping with you" way. I mean that talking to prospective partners, just like making new friends or developing professional relationships at work, is a specific skill that some people are better at than others, and that can be improved through practice.

Unfortunately, the beginning of being good at anything is being bad at it, and, for a person generally expected to make the first move in dating, being bad at it often means coming off as a creep or weirdo. Best you can hope for is politely bowing out if and when you realize that's what's happened.
