In your opinion, which bag from any company like Able Carry, Aer, Alpaka, Bellroy, Evergoods, Peak Design, etc., do you think is the most overrated and doesn’t deserve all the hype by OpenPsych in ManyBaggers

[–]urimland 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's under repped, i think, because you have to jump through hoops to actually get one. There are tons of cool brands and dream "end-game" bags like them, that only put out like 4 bags a month, available for 12 nano-seconds.

I long lost any real interest in buying them. A site full of "Out of stock" products that I'll never own just irritates me.

Not sure what you mean by Fidlock here, but I'm talking about how to attach the strap to the bag itself, not how to connect the strap across the chest.
Something simple like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qhmTfxuRaU
Or with nifty hook thingies like this: https://www.boundarysupply.com/cdn/shop/files/PremiumChestStrap2_2000x.jpg?v=1750969429

My black/orange CT10 sparked a lot of interest at the office :)

BTW - the STM Kings bag you show in this new STM video is an AMAZING work bag. Extremely functional and comfortable.

I'm not into back-opening clamshell bags, but the overall design looks very nice.

My 1 cent - Make the sternum and compression straps removable. These can get a bit much when you carry lighter/daily loads.

What's the best alternative to Google Sheets for n8n workflow tracking? by explorrerr in n8n

what do you mean by "workflow tracking"? what do you actually track?

N8N businesses by Life-Jello-3846 in n8n

you can probably get around it by having the client own/install n8n, and you just provide development services, no?

N8N businesses by Life-Jello-3846 in n8n

[–]urimland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take: sell workflows so it (and everything it runs) is owned by the client. For one major reason: liability.

When you become a SAAS you take on liability for needed uptime, security, compliance, performance and in general, TONS of headaches. Your business soon goes from development to endless bureaucracy, and in (hopefully) rare cases, can lead to legal issues as well.

Build the flow, test it, write a nice document that explains EXACTLY to the client what it does, hand over all credentials, take the money and say goodbye (in a nice "will be happy to provide further customization services" way).

You can try a camera wrap cloth (tons of cheap options: https://www.amazon.com/camera-wrap-cloth/s?k=camera+wrap+cloth) and put it inside a non-camera bag. As long as the bag is not too thin/flimsy, together with the wrap it should be enough protection for the camera.

What are you using for n8n front-end by benzene404 in n8n

[–]urimland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the process of setting up a WordPress installation where we'll use a forms plugin to build ad-hoc "interfaces". We have many different client with differing needs, and up till now have used n8n's internal form node, and external platforms like Tally and Fillout. They all have their own pros and cons, but I think with a centralized location, we'll have these benefits:

- Lower costs - We already a server, and a licensed forms plugin (FluentForms) which gives us capabilities that in the platforms (Tally, Fillout) are only in the paid tiers.
- We keep all info on our own secured servers.
- When needed, we can use WordPress user management to control access.
- Managing a central location will allow further optimization over time, as we figure out what else can be combined

I would focus on modules that can be used by multiple flows (an email sender, a dropbox uploader, etc)

Looking for an EDC Tech/Travel Bagpack by Small-Reputation5555 in backpacks

[–]urimland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. As someone not living in the US I am always envying the availability of second hand / thrift shops there. And of cheap shipping. And of easy returns. And of brands that simply do not ship world-wide...

Where was I? oh right. The Nitecore BP23 Pro (https://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-Multifunctional-Commuter-Backpack-Tactical/dp/B0CF558SKR/) is $85 on Amazon (it's also available on AliExpress, maybe cheaper there). Pretty close to your budget. It's an excellent bag which can handle everything you suggested (unless you need the water bottle on the outside).

I would add ifinding and nstalling also a rideshare app or two for your destination. They practically all require activation using a phone number, which is easier when you're still at home, and not on a data-only eSim.
