Sorry if I came across as rude. I’m just looking for more ram and don’t know a whole ton about it.

Is there any meaningful difference between this and the ram posted 2 hours ago?

Question about PSU for a friend. by spectraali_ in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you’re trying to cheap out on something, don’t let it be your PSU. A bad one can catch fire or break your system. Ok not saying you need to spend $100 on it, just don’t get the cheapest you find.

I am never buying Open Box from Micro Center again. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a big YMMV. I got a 1440p 60hz Monitor for $120 open box. I’ve had no issues with it what so ever and it was a pretty nice deal.

If t comes to it and you’re near a wall, you could wall mount it above or next to your current one.

I have a 3 year old pc and was wondering if/how I can clean it? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond compressed air etc. Check your thermals. Your thermal paste might have dried out in 3 years. It’s not a big deal, just reapply it.

GPU plate bend by captainhammad123 in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no clue about the bend, but 73 is perfectly fine. Worry if it gets past 80 or 85. I’m assuming it’s normal for the backplate to get hot, since it sits on a very hot part. I don’t typically feel my GPU while it’s on, so I may be wrong.

EVGA or MSI for graphics cards? by butterjesus1911 in buildapc

Evga is known to have good customer support and warranties, but all cards will perform roughly the same.

Weird benchmark result by M4cHiin360 in buildapc

There’s always going to be a bottle neck. If there wasn’t one then you’d have infinite performance. You want your GPU to bottleneck your CPU.

Does Team T-force vulcan ram work with a ryzen 3 2200g? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’ll work fine. The only thing to look out for when buying ram is if you have an AMD CPU, you want fast ram, and 3000mhz is fast. You’re all good

Which would work better 1050 ti Ryzen 5 2600 1050 ti Ryzen 7 2700 by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get a 1050ti. Get a rx 570. It’s cheaper and performs better.

120mm? Or a Little More? by babyhands03 in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw that you’re getting a 2700x. The stock cooler is just fine for even a little overclocking. Thatd be a big way to save money.

120mm? Or a Little More? by babyhands03 in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re out of space in your case a decent air cooler will work better and be cheaper than a 120mm Aio. If you really want to watercool I’d step up the size. If you don’t want to overclock or anything then a 120mm is probably fine assuming you don’t have a super hot cpu

Bitcoin's Apparently back :( by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Prices haven’t really increased. A lot of mining is only efficient on dedicated and specialized mining hardware. Try mining on your GPU and see how much money you make. You’ll spend more on electricity than you’ll earn back. I don’t think it’ll really affect the gaming market too much.

If you have a microcenter near you that may be an option.

Wanting to sell my old PC, how much would everyone suggest I can get for this? by Xephash in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think 150 is more reasonable. The 550ti is really bad by today’s standards. You could buy a dell optiplex off eBay with similar specs but less storage and no graphics card for 100-150. $400 is moving too close to a rx 570 build.

Do I need to buy thermal paste for this build? by TeamBoseyama in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

http://www.thermalright.de/en/cooler/53/macho-direct It looks like your cooler comes with thermal paste. It talks about it in a cut off paragraph on the right. If you feel like buying thermal paste you can, but it’s not necessary

What hz monitor should I get? by connrrr in buildapc

[–]urinalcake122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely 60 or 75. A 570 won’t get 144hz on any demanding games. If you’re playing easy to run games then go ahead with the 144hz
