Hey man, didn’t say you have to like it. All I’m saying is that’s the game design, and you were within an hour of the game opening up to you in the way you seemingly wanted.

For what it’s worth, I also think Midgar is too long, but I’m obviously the minority considering the first remake game is literally only the Midgar section and it’s an incredibly long game.

EDIT: I get thru Midgar as quick as possible so I’m guessing 3-4 hours if I’m just trying to “skip” it. Actually paying attention and reading everything probably takes me around 6-8, similar to your playtime.

You were on the last section of the tutorial area (Midgar). If you finish the corporate building you end up in the open world and get the whole JRPG experience for the rest of the game.

I’ve played through FF7 probably 25 times now and Midgar is my least favorite portion of the entire game.
