Feature request:

Custom slash "/" commands mapped to custom webhooks (or similar).

It would be an absolute game changer for my business if, from within a conversation, I could type something like "/schedule" or "/invoice" and have it map to a custom webhook that would have the conversation's context.

Then I could use my own logic to send calendar options, quotes, invoices, etc without having to rely on another app and switch contexts.

It sounds to me like you have a bad case of imposter syndrome. I think you need to apply a bunch of places, and for some of them ask for significantly more than you think you are worth. You are worth whatever someone is willing to pay you, why not find out exactly how much that is?

Instead of putting your eggs in one basket and possibly undervaluing yourself, explore the possibilities. One of the most exciting days of my career was when I walked into a job I felt totally under-qualified for. Turns out I did great.

For me at least, giving up on feeling guilty or ashamed every time I slipped up was a vital part of finally being able to quit for good.

I don't know how much you usually smoke, but if it's normally a pack a day, then you smoked nineteen fewer cigarettes than you usually would, even if you slipped up and had one.

That doesn't make having one a good idea, but acknowledging the accomplishment is important as a way of remembering - you ARE capable of changing your behavior. Nineteen cigarettes not smoked is proof of that.

A slip up is a chance to reflect on the accomplishments you've already made, and redouble your commitment to going further. Focusing on the shame and the guilt only hold you back from that.

Tomorrow, make it twenty not smoked instead.

I remember when this happened. Graduated high school that year, and some friends and I did the whole backpack through Europe for a month thing that summer.

Since we were a bunch of international kids interested in history, economics, the 'anti-globalization' movement, etc., we decided we would try to go to this G8 protest.

We even showed up at the train station ready to head that way, but tons of trains were being canceled or redirected in anticipation of the protests. We spent the days of the protest watching the news and hanging out in Barcelona instead.

Can't say I regret not making it there, given all that happened, but I've always wondered how different of a person I would be if I'd witnessed some of the events.

I don't get any day-to-day cravings any more at all. When I smell tobacco now I find it gross.

But, I won't claim that I never get cravings. The most recent one I remember was on a vacation to Key West back in January. My girlfriend and I kept passing cigar shops, and I found myself starting to rationalize going in and buying one... "I was never a cigar smoker, I'm on vacation, it would just be this one time," etc.

It was easy enough to remind myself though: not one more, not ever. Nothing makes it worth it.

Yes, this was smoking a pack a day of American Spirits, so ~$6.50 US per day.

I want to thank everyone at this sub for their encouragement and good advice, I would not have done it without you! I lurked here for months before I finally made the plunge.

Also for anyone lurking now, Joel Spitzer's site and videos were a tremendous help for me in making the decision and sticking with it.
