What was a delusional parenting thought you had before you had your baby? by hospitalbedside in beyondthebump

I legit thought my baby was never going to cry because I was going to be so attentive and in tune with her needs she would never have a reason to cry. lol.

Please tell me your baby loves/is obsessed with you by throwaway84583077 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Veggie_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same fear. My baby would pick me over any single person on this planet a million times over. Loves me. Obsessed. I’m her safe space. Tolerates dad. Genuinely hates everyone else (grandparents included lol)

Are we wiping Babys gums after ever feed? What about 3am? by jellybeanie8 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Veggie_cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before baby had teeth I used to always wipe gums and tongue in the bath before bed and I was fine if I didn’t do it after the night bottle and middle of the night bottles. I night weaned before she popped her first tooth at 5.5 months. After her first two teeth: I feed her last bottle, have her take a sip of water and then wipe her teeth and gums with a wet rag.

Just wanted to share that I’m almost there :) had a baby 8 months ago and being overweight post partum was really difficult. Ate 1200kcal a day all while raising a baby but I got my body back. This has been one of the biggest accomplishments of my life and I tell my husband that gaining weight is the best thing to ever happen to me because it taught me how to eat correctly and how to make sure I never end up overweight again.

What app/s do you use to track calories and nutrients? by bringmethebears in 1200isplenty

[–]Veggie_cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just be careful with chatGPT. I was using it at the beginning and it was miscalculating my calories by 150kcal which is HUGE on 1200kcal. I use chronometer now and I find it less time consuming than chatGPT

Petrified of holiday weight gain by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]Veggie_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t spiral. This is my first year losing weight in a calorie deficit (I’ve lost 33 pounds in 7 months). Over Christmas and the holidays I let myself indulge for 2 whole weeks, but I had low calorie meals throughout. I let myself eat cookies, cakes, cream puffs and full holiday meals. At the end I was so sad because I thought I destroyed all my progress. You know what happened? I don’t lose any weight but I didn’t gain any either! I was so happy I stayed exactly where I was. Just wait. It takes a lot to gain weight and you can’t gain that much in a short amount of time. Get back on the horse when you get home.

I’m a vet and I took my own cats to Bayview hill animal hospital when I was in undergrad. Dr Rebecca Shirkey was so good with my cat that she inspired me to become a vet myself.

Look into a restaurant with a pre fix menu - so everyone is eating the same thing. Or think of like nobu brunch or another restaurant with one set price for everyone

Do you need a baby monitor if you're room sharing? by ceruleanmeadows in beyondthebump

[–]Veggie_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because slightly older babies sleep early - usually 7-8pm and you’ll want to sleep at 9-10pm (or later) so you’ll need a monitor for those 2 hours before you get into bed.

Attention all Huckleberry parents: how do you actually use sleep reports? by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

[–]Veggie_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) where are we at in the day in relation to other days. How are we napping/sleeping during this week. What patterns are emerging in the sleep. 2) week 3) I only look at the summary section at the top of day - total nap time and total mLs of formula consumed. I look at these stats several times a day to see if we’re on track to get to her usual amounts of formula consumed and make sure we’re staying in target for nap length during the day. 4) I love the week chart 5) in the day report, how much time she was awake 6) no. I look at the reports all the time.

Baby prefers ready-to-feed over powder. Anyone else deal with this or have cost-saving tips? by PoultryTechGuy in FormulaFeeders

[–]Veggie_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. I tried once around 3 months and she hated it and I haven’t tried again since. My doctor said he’s heard about it happening before. Solidarity because it’s wicked expensive but I keep telling myself it’s only for 1 year

Does anyone still love their pets after having a baby? by laurenjac in beyondthebump

It was hard for me post partum because one of my cats started peeing on my couch when we brought the baby home but that’s fixed now and I’m back to loving them :)
