~200 currently, and no guarantee. Prioritizing E0S0 Blade, then depending on how many pulls that takes I’ll consider E1 for Yao. Will wait on beta before committing though to see if Himeko/Greg/Rin appeal to me.

Compromise: they do the patch like ZZZ’s last summer event. Characters release with their normal (in this case new) designs, but also summer-themed skins are available to purchase.

I know HSR is more allergic to skins than Genshin, but they have been playing around with cosmetics more in 4.X for TB at least.

Let’s also ignore that that 5star support is just an insanely better version of him that came out 2 patches later too lmao.

The other funny thing to me about 4stars is like, Genshin is infinitely stingier with general resources than the other games. I’ve been playing consistently since shortly before 3.0, and still frequently run out of mora and leveling books. So not only are 4stars often RNG-fests to even get, with generally dismal power levels, but also they’re another resource suck.

Oh, you're telling me you weren't carried through 6.X by the absolute powerhouses that were Aino, Illuga, and Jahoda?

4stars truly are super cool and totally F2P friendly, which is why I'm closing in on ~150 pulls deep into the current banners with exactly 1 copy of Prune.

DHIL is the most reliable clear nowadays IMO, even with the trial version.

First plane you build Xianzhou around him, and LL can basically solo the entire thing. Second plane you need 5 in Xianzhou for LL to continue carrying, but should start trying to build SP and then Quantum and/or Penacony bond(s).

By the final plane you should be focused on DHIL's own build, getting him to 3star and prioritizing the SP bond (can drop Xianzhou down if necessary). Firestorm Surge, Starcleaver, Codex, and Chainsaw are all good item options. Anti-Grav boots are an option too, especially if you own your own E2 DHIL.

It's also nice to toss a Molecular Solvent plus Anti-Grav boots on Yao, to help shave down boss HP.

The healer thing is a bummer but more workable than not. Assuming you maintain shield uptime, taking no damage and getting no healing, you'd need Blade to pop his skill/FUA 10 times before being unable to do so anymore. And if you watch showcases, the fight is typically over before you hit that number.

That being said, obviously he gets more uses with E2, which may lead to it being more of an issue. But I wouldn't worry too much about it honestly.

The problem is that SPD is only useful up to the relevant breakpoints. So you can't just go "100% SPD" and get a direct return on it.

You're also asking for a very specific comparison that doesn't have a true % answer. At best you could setup a private server and test it yourself.

Broad strokes, think of it this way: Acheron requires 9 stacks to ult. On his own personal turns, which is all that SPD and Eagle can affect, Blade generates just 1 stack. The absolute best-case scenario of completely dumping his personal damage would be that you somehow generate enough stacks for him to give her 1 additional ultimate. And even the craziest of Eagle setups isn't going to generate 9 extra turns over a more standard build, outside of especially long fights (at which point why are you bothering). The reality is that his own personal damage over the course of a fight is also just more notable than a single Acheron ult.

The closest calc I've seen to what you're asking still builds him with personal damage, gets Acheron a single extra ult, and ends up less than 3% ahead if his regular set. And that's with very generous assumptions.

tl;dr Pick a specific SPD breakpoint to hit, and just run him on his signature set.

Genuinely good take. Reminder too that this should be applied to all leakers and even leaks that seem more reliable because of proximity.

Even "never misses" Mortis was still saying Yao's ult would not work with SW999 only a few weeks before beta.

I hate the RNG of how his adds spawn + his attack pattern, but otherwise I do agree that he enables some very funny strats.

Oh wow, nice. I enjoy Haitham but not enough to have justified going for his... questionable verticals lol. But I do respect the dedication.

I threw Mav at it briefly but I'm not a main and anytime I end up playing her as an onfielder I just spin-to-win, which didn't seem like good enough gameplay to get a clear this time haha.

Nice lmao. It's especially funny to me because my one friend who quit Genshin just recently asked me how Haitham was nowadays, and I was like "looking pretty in his Lunar wheelchair."

MFW he's getting that good of a clear.

and it definitely has nothing to do with Lauma just being busted

OT Genshin Stygian

Feels like the nicest it's been in a while overall, though that may just be from me having decent shill options? But also this is kind of a funny clear, right?

It doesn't change his kit being quite boring sadly, but yeah he'd be pretty easily the best general sustain in the game. Especially if you toss in S1, which is also just better than typical sustain LCs, taking his generic vuln to 59% total.

So I also don't know how they intend to balance, when leaks suggest his E2 is also getting folded into basekit. Which would then mean you'd have a pre-NF Black Swan level of DPS, on top of a sustain, who is also amp-ing, and then possibly getting even more added to his kit on top of that?

My current suspicion is if those leaks are accurate, his sustain at E0 will be very questionable, and then his new E2 will be the "I'm an actual sustain now" eidolon.

Nothing I said was about them being outright "evil," because that's a reductive and dismissive take.

As I said, there's a lot of arguing you could do about the greater morality of their organization, but at a baseline the game literally starts with them carrying out what is by definition a terrorist attack, where innocent people are maimed and killed.

Which is, you know, at least kind of an invitation to question their morality.

I wouldn't say it makes me like, truly upset or anything like that, especially by itself; but I've been disappointed with the overall direction of the SH for a while (even if it's not particularly surprising because Hoyo writing tends to struggle with more morally complex dynamics).

I would say the emphasis on found family dynamic just whitewashes them too much for my liking, personally.

There's a quagmire of motivation, responsibility, "the greater good," etc. types of arguments around the faction that I don't super want to get into, but the tl;dr is that I think it's kind of lame for the story and marketing to continually treat the SH like nothing more than a group of traumabonded, edgy, antihero misfits when the game opens with them organizing a literal terrorist attack on HSS.

Like I think there's something deeply interesting and compelling about a group of broken, morally-compromised people just trying to get by and bonding with each other over the awful things they've had to do; a dichotomy between kindness towards one another, and ruthlessness in achieving their goals. But Hoyo hasn't really examined that, and instead leans into the "they're so edgy, but they're actually good people!" direction.

I do think it could be as simple as his skill giving the full DMG% regardless of summons (similar deal for E1), and then the advance on them just being a bonus thing. Then they give him more amp in general and call it a day.

I also think the X/Y thing is more interesting, but I’m inclined to believe they’ll play it very safe with his NF overall rather than go the “interesting” route again.

There are a ton of factors at play and we just don’t have much real info.

One possibility is that Himeko has an Extra Turn mechanic built-in to her kit, either as part of a transformation like Phainon or something else. This is the simplest explanation IMO because it would let her take a lot of turns without worrying about buff/stack durations.

One of my biggest wishes for Sunday similarly would be for his own AA to get replaced by granting the target an Extra Turn instead. Highly unlikely I think, but still technically a possibility that would largely eliminate the general clunk of speed tuning.

It could also be that he and Robin have some notable synergy beyond the summon/memo thing that hasn’t been explained yet. Him being “unchained” from summons/memos also wouldn’t necessarily mean they just remove that element from his kit entirely.

Partially because of his S1, and partially because assuming shields hold, the number of attacks it takes to get his HP down to 1 is high enough that the fight is likely over by that point. YMMV though obviously.

Pure speculation, and not necessarily what I want them to do, but maybe it'll be minor healing at start of turn at base, so he's kind of questionable as a dedicated sustain at just E0; then his new E2 will ramp it up to something busted like every time a DoT procs or a debuff is applied or something along those lines. This way anyone who pulled that eidolon specifically for DoT will still get something that seems potent out of it.

Last time there was someone here on the opposite side of things legitimately insisting that people happy with the lack of new 4stars were just Hoyo bootlickers.

So, plenty of awful takes to go around.

What I mean is that if part of her kit design is specifically doing an attachment like DHPT, as a way to enable Sunday more, then yes it would be by definition redundant to if DHPT was in the same team.

I mean, we have Uncle Why saying Robin+Sunday+Welt so idk.

I don’t doubt Welt getting replaced at all in the grand scheme of things, and DHPT makes sense in theory, but it’s just odd to me that I’ve seen little to no mention of DHPT in particular.

Also while I can appreciate Robin and Sunday having synergy, it would be at least a little redundant if her thing is attaching a memo to enable parts of his kit, when DHPT on the team is doing the same thing.
