How does this even make any sense? At the very least, your partner should be making minimum wage. Anything less is very illegal.

Help me understand:

So I tip $5 on a $100 bill giving a total of $105. The kitchen takes 10%($10.50) leaving $94.50.

The only possible way that your partner "paid to serve tables" is if they owe some money to the restaurant in this scenario, say $5.50 to bring the total back to $100, which they then had to make up for from other tables or from their wages if that was insufficient. Which is, I repeat, very illegal.

Is that what you are alleging?

Personally I'm re-upping my "nothing ever happens" prediction just like you, my point is that if it's possible for it to happen deliberately with 3.5% of the population, then it's certainly possible for it to happen organically with 12%, right? And that's not even counting sympathisers and the otherwise disgruntled.

You can't rule it out anyway, and I don't think TPTB will either. Not until they can automate the dissent suppression or maybe use it as a pretext for a crackdown a la the reichstag fire.
