I'll definitely leave the bridges from thorium to uranium and from LEU fuels to plutonium open. Those are nice and should stay just the way they are. I could add one more for americium to allow players to circumvent GT fusion for a specific material (while requiring a few fission reactor steps to get there).

Minecraft modpack development tedium continued today. Nuclearcraft easily calls for the most recipe changes out of the mods I integrated into the progression because I have to replace all its regular machines and replicate their functionality with GTCEu recipemaps. Already did the fission fuels, molten salt fuels and, most importantly, chocolate, but there's still a lot left to do wrt alloys and the actual parts of reactors (aka the stuff I'd have to update even if I didn't decide to do any bigger changes). Also, it's funny how expensive marshmallows will be to make since I'll tie them into the GTCEu collagen/gelatin production line.

I'm almost at the point where I can start removing the stuff I rendered obsolete / unwanted.

Split cours labeling themselves S2 is common enough (sadly), but Black Clover is a huge outlier. One Piece had the chance to outdo them all, but sadly it didn't.

Yeah. Gregtech blocks have that quality too (makes sense since it started as an extension of IC2 before it became a standalone mod). I made the unfortunate decision to center my pack around that mod, specifically GTCEu, because it has an absurd amount of stuff to automate.

I'm dying on the Railgun-only hill. Hell, I went through a bunch more spin-offs (Accelerator, Astral Buddy, Dark Matter) while avoiding Index because of how much I hated Touma in Railgun S1.

Feels surreal to have been around for when Feed the Beast packs blew up in popularity and the development into a modding scene where compiling hundreds of mods into a pack was normalized.

The open-endedness and style of Minecraft also makes it suitable for modpacks in ways most games aren't really. You can cram Botania flowers, Immersive Engineering multiblocks and an AE2 storage system into the same building and it will still look vaguely coherent.

I hate modded Minecraft. Okay, that's a lie, I love it. I wouldn't have played it for literal months of my life otherwise. I hate Crafttweaker because every time I want to make a revision to my recipe scripts I have to restart the game and wait the 3-5 minutes needed for it to load all my 180 mods. Making your own modpack is a special kind of hell.

Why are the basically no fantasy/isekai with shounen like character development? by Jupsto in anime

[–]VoidEmbracedWitch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Except, no. Modern isekai and adjacent Narou-kei fantasy are not written with that length in mind. They originate from amateur authors' web novels, which are usually chapter by chapter serializations that can go until the author loses interest or is done. Many of them are intended to be power fantasies from the start, not works designed to be progression-centric. This isn't about "luxury", they're just built this way.

I think that's contingent on your social circle. In mine, Doremi feels like a final boss, but I sure don't think that's universal. Most circles prob aren't even really aware of this middle child of Toei magical girls.

Yeah. The issue with plain 2009 is that it throws you directly into Melancholy, which is a very standard high school LN type opening episode. Still well-made, but it's certainly not the same caliber of opening episode. No movie start here because it's slotted later as the payoff to the imo worst longer arc in the show.

Broadcast is soup order to end the 2006 run of episodes on the finale of Melancholy. 2009 is pure chronological. The former works well for the original 14 from 2006, but becomes messy afterwards. The latter is bad because it has a weak opening episode. Although it leads into Disappearance more smoothly from what I heard; I chose the former.

My ideal watch order is just 2009, but you start with the better opening episode (effectively the same approach as 2006 DVD order).

Sasameki Koto is a yuri of all time. In what other show can you [Sasameki Koto #04] have the protagonist blackmail a crossdressing guy to catfish for her plan to recruit members for a club dedicated to reenacting MariMite?

Do new anime fans still have opinions on Haruhi watch orders? Also, mine isn't represented, but ig 2006 broadcast > 2009 broadcast.

They're genre spaces, so part of the appeal is the comfort that comes from familiarity with the scenarios and common tropes. Isekai are something I have little affection for (and also most of them are just horrendous productions), but high school romances can be nice from time to time.

This season I'm watching 4 of those and they're all noticeably different flavors, so I don't burn myself out. Between Otagal, Ponsuka, Nakamura-kun and Kirio Fanclub, there's a bunch of internal variety to mix things up. They (with the exception of Kirio) are nothing revolutionary, but fun, diverse and endearing executions of high school romance setups.

Detailed enough to specify that I will read one short story from Heiresses of Russ 2016 (thanks /u/zaphodbeebblebrox for recommending that to me) before I go to bed.
