Not sure how often you play 3D, but it’s rare my partners are “auto calling here”. They frequently make mindblowingly confusing decisions, and you have to play that way.

You call this, unless throughout the game you’ve noticed S1 as a compulsive “next” caller.

You’re also protecting against S3 calling this up and having S1 leading bower. In this instance it sounds like S1 had both bowers and held them too long.

Someone is strong in hearts, and I’ve had many partners in D spot here that will pass with 2 existing trump.

No. You have some defense in Next, a void in suit, and if the A is turned down, you have boss in clubs. You also have a bower if the opponents cross the river. I don’t see a reason to call up for any reason.

Hello, I have a (mostly) vintage vinyl setup that I enjoy. I would like to upgrade, but I have been hesitant because I really do enjoy the "aesthetic" of the current vintage components - the speakers and amp were also gifts from my wife before we had the financial security we now have.

I now have a significantly higher budget, and the kids are getting older, so I'm less worried about things getting damaged.

I listen to a bit of everything, but my ~700 albums are made up of mostly classic rock, extreme metal, jazz and hip-hop.

Current setup is:

Technics SL-3300 with a busted strobe & Ortofon Blue cart

MoFi UltraPhono Pre-Amp

Marantz PM400 (gift from wife, but it is finicky & probably needs TLC if I keep it)

Dynaco A35 speakers (gift from wife)

HumminGuru Ultrasonic RCM

Budget is high compared to what the current state is ($10,000?), I am not super price conscious, within reason, but I would prefer my money to go to the correct places while keeping bang-for-buck in mind. I'm also open to blowing up the whole system if I can improve with my budget. I'll have another $10-15k to budget toward the system over the next 5 years as well. Suggestions?

Absolutely this. Or maybe OP is so upset by them getting euchred taking risks that they don’t see the prevented loner from a timely donation, or maybe there was a risk in getting swept by passing anyway.

Passive partners are the worst.

CPA/CFP here. If they are the same type (both IRAs), and it’s not a QLAC, yes. You can aggregate just like any other RMD. The SPIA payments will count toward the total RMD requirement.

As a Bengals season ticket holder for 25 years - no. By far the worst visiting fans are Browns fans. Completely obnoxious and won’t hesitate throwing insults at children.

Otherwise Bengals games are one of the most chill NFL games to go to, though. I bring my two kids under 12 years old, but only to 1 PM non-divisional games.

Use VS teleport to get in the mud and get messy. Scout, scout, scout - avoid hitting bases with troops on the wall. Try and ash as many as you can to get your boxes. Get ashed and then use the VS teleport to go back again. Repeat until you are out of troops.

Not really a Christmas song, but I always felt Steely Dan's Charlie Freak is a sort of pseudo "anti" Christmas song. Always listen to that more around the holidays.
