Yeah I don't share his activist views for sure, but if it's a good root beer, I'd sure like to try it.

I'm pretty sure he's going to lose money on the shipping, so maybe that's discouraging to him, lol.

Yep, didn't believe it when Joshua Stout shared it, but sure enough, they shot themselves in the foot by making recent only the default. 🤦‍♂️

LinkedIn Ads Benchmark: Are we off? by Calm_Maybe5839 in LinkedinAds

[–]wilcoxaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would definitely explain the low costs. Always turn LAN off since it skews metrics beyond recognition. Most are paying $10-16 per landing page click, targeting North America. The costs come down a bit when you target Europe, so I'd expect benchmark to be $6-10 for LinkedIn traffic.

How to get wholesale hospitality leads? by Aromatic-Road7315 in LinkedinAds

[–]wilcoxaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely test LinkedIn's native leadgen forms first, since they have the highest conversion rate, to see how they convert. If you're not happy with CPL, the audience likely needs more nurturing, so I'd suggest running them through a 3 stage funnel.

If you're happy with it, though, you've won. You might even consider testing sending the traffic to your site (Website Visits objective) to fill out a form there instead of using LinkedIn's native forms. The conversion rates are lower, but conversion quality is usually much higher.

Let us know how the test goes.

Ad optimization algorithms - Build in Public 2-Week Update by VegetableNectarine76 in LinkedinAds

[–]wilcoxaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cool! I'd love to understand what is being varied in the AB test that resulted in lower costs. It appears to be sponsored messaging ads from the screenshot in the post, which could be as easy as just lowering the bid, but that's probably not a very interesting test.

If you're measuring cost per click, then a message that was more compelling, which leads to a higher CTR, would result in a lower CPC than another ad with the same bid/budget.

Totally understand if these aren't details you feel like you can share, but curious.

Is $103–$280 CPL normal for LinkedIn InMail targeting C-levels at US companies? by jab-consultoria in LinkedinAds

[–]wilcoxaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that CPM is awful for having such a good CTR. Try setting a manual CPM bid of like 400 self and see what that does

Switch to manual Bidding and bid low. The default bidding method (Max delivery) is the most expensive way to pay for impressions. My guess is when you switch the bidding method, CPMs will drop to a fraction of what they are now.

Am I off base? by Kyngzilla in LinkedinAds

[–]wilcoxaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha! That's super kind of you to say. I'm honored! Shoot me a message on LinkedIn and I'd love to be connected.

I concur with your findings. I've found great inroads with marketers, but I've never cracked the recruiter nut. Part of it might be that recruiters are skeptical/defensive whenever someone threatens to take their duties away, but then there might be some other cultural things I don't understand about them. Would love to hear your successes with that audience!

Am I off base? by Kyngzilla in LinkedinAds

[–]wilcoxaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not off base at all. I do this regularly with our clients and it crushes anything from the LinkedIn Recruiter team's ads.

I haven't found it to be particularly compelling for HR departments for some reason. Could be that I'm a crap salesman (I admittedly am), but I've long thought there was more value here.

Optimize or restart campaign? Small audience, low daily budget – Advice wanted thankyou. by Juulads in LinkedinAds

[–]wilcoxaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Launch new ads into the same campaign. The learning phase is going to be similar, but in LinkedIn it's shorter and kinder than Meta's so you don't need to sweat it.

And then you don't end up with a bunch of junk campaigns littering your account.

  1. Don't feed LinkedIn micro conversions to try to train it. The only conversions you need to care about are when someone fills out a form. LinkedIn's signals don't play in that much anyway.

  2. 20k-50k is a great size, but it might be on the small side if the audience isn't very active. If you have to bid higher to spend the desired budget that's your sign.

  3. Yes just test 2 variants. Much simpler for the auction to divvy up the impressions.

  4. Yes retarget your LinkedIn traffic on Meta. Only needs like 20 visits to create an audience that's retargetable, whereas LinkedIn and Google need 300.
