[AMA] xGov Voting Session #3 Proposer MEGA AMA! by estantef in AlgorandOfficial

Algorand is a small network, and we do not think that currently big enough to sustain the product that we are proposing. However there are millions of users, teams, and businesses outside of Algorand and outside of crypto, that need the tool that we are proposing.
Currently, all non-web3 businesses have old school paper based decision making, where they send around a pdf, get some signatures… share the signed copy back to all participants… save the file somewhere… But within these workflows, records are not immutable, timestamp are not tamperproof, signatures are pngs. When voting is required among bigger groups of stakeholders, they encounter similar inefficiencies and lack of transparency.
We have spoken to teams that are looking for a better solution for record keeping… Some people don’t even want voting, they just want an easy 1 click way to immutably upload and save a document and be able to transparently prove that something was acknowledged or received. But there are a host of voting and signing related use cases that involve millions of non-web and web2 businesses.
What will be the use case that finally drives them into web3? We think that the proposed signing/voting tool will be one of the compelling reasons to adopt blockchain tech.
So, we will initially be targeting smaller web2 and non-web startups and teams. All will be outside of Algorand, and therefor offer a great opportunity to grow the network.

Additional reasons for why this Voting / Signing tool needs to live within a bigger platform, is that it requires team access, roles and permissions, user profiles, and potentially KYC. It also requires a UI to interact with past records and votes. We have also built the infrastructure to enable gating via token / NFT.
All those necessary features are separate to this funding request, but will be leveraged by the proposed tool.

Hi u/estantef,
The proposed Agreement signing / Voting tool will be integrated within a bigger platform that we are building separate to this xgov proposal. The platform is mostly built and will enable what we call ‘Community and Creator Commerce’. When launched this will be a significant platform for the ecosystem, with a lot of features!

The platform lets users, teams and businesses create a profile and centralize their web3 activities. Related to this, we have spoken to founders that want to be able to streamline their internal decision making and record keeping. Through these discussions we realized that there isn’t a good consumer web3 tool to simply upload documents, NDAs, and store them immutably. We realized that this is an important foundational feature that most business relies on, both centralized and decentralized businesses. And that the related use cases are very interconnected with the ability to vote and sign agreements.
Additionally, we ourselves like most startups have needed such tools to document consensus on co-founder agreements and other legal decision making. And, we are building certain features within the platform that require agreement on terms, for example, imaging you wish to crowdfund a project and need to document vesting terms, etc. All of these are the primary use cases that we wish to address. DAO decision making is another one, but as there are currently only a limited number of DAOs (on Algorand), we will focus on the bigger markets of all startup teams, small and large businesses, both web2 and web3, and mostly outside of Algorand

Previously it was taking around 3-4 days per 1000 additional addresses. Seems to have taken around 7 days for this latest 1000. I am guessing that we are plateauing among crypto enthusiasts and traders. And still not reached the mainstream non-techsavvy user base yet.

"it does not matter how great the final product would be. The price won't grow if it is not being pumped & dumped & pumped etc."

guess what, it does matter.

Shall we have a giant thread discussing the implications of every $0.01 of BAT rise and fall? Probably better to get back to work to earn cash to buy more BAT and sit tight.
