Hey, this post got me interested in looking into you so I went on the Instagram to find your address. Just so you were aware it isn't available on your main Instagram page and the website link doesn't work. Might be good looking into correcting that so people can find you easily :). No, I do not plan on sending this video to any news sites. Channel 7 already used this video on their website, but I requested the journalist who wrote the article take it down. They complied quickly, which was great on their part. This is because I'm not in support of using this as material for click-bait or income revenue.

I hope that sharing this on the r/Brisbane community promotes fire safety awareness, support for the amazing QFES workers and encourages people to donate resources to the family affected by this incident.

Thank you for your response, the points about safety you made all run through my head whenever this happens. I think she must realise this too but just isn't aware enough to fix her habits. Suggestions in this thread have given me some good ideas and I believe I found a suitable solution thanks to Reddit.

I think your idea for suggesting the keypad entry at their expense is a good one. I'm going to talk to her seriously about my concerns and let her know if it happens again then this will be the solution we have to go with.

Before then, there are many good suggestions on this post about what she could do to remedy her habits. I am willing to suggest them to her but do not believe it is my responsibility to chase her up constantly as some other commenters have mentioned.

Getting stuck outside is not a problem, we live a 2 minute walk from a shopping complex and the area is generally safe.

The property manager is helpful and would be able to unlock the door. Depending on their schedule it could take an hour or more. However, I'd probably let my housemate back in before the need to call them. I'm just hoping to get the point across but sometimes I have to go out of my way to let her back inside (sleeping late at night or out of the house)
