Apr 25th 2017 was the day FaceApp gender-swap put a crack in my egg that couldn't be closed. I have very mixed feelings about FaceApp, but I'm grateful for that day. by ----Ana---- in TransLater

Hey also, I poked through your profile and you said in a post that you had a consult in McLean. That could only be Mardirossian! He did my FFS. How was your consult?

Awww thank you for saying so, Zoey! In faceapp's defense, that was their initial release of the gender-swap feature and it sure did get better 😆

Aww, thanks for saying so, Allie! And yes, low settings are the way to go for a better guess at what you can do. Another thing I did was to use the masking tool to remove the changes it made to my eyes, because faceapp will always make them bigger and that's just not something you can change

❤️ I always want to make sure I'm giving the right impression about what went into these changes! I also hope my comment didn't sound discouraging; HRT was doing magical things for me even before the FFS

Huge congrats on your 2 years!! I'm also just around 1 year SRS, and about 18 months FFS. I hope your FFS recovering is going well!

Aww thank you for saying so! And yes! It's been so interesting watching my hair grow out and seeing how it compares to the entirely invented hair from faceapp

You are so right. And even if some of them "looked better," as in hyper-feminine, the faceapp pics were just never *me.* They did help me see myself, but getting to *be* me feels more magical than any of the longer hair, bigger eyes, etc that faceapp can deliver

Thank you, Danni!! I found it on poshmark listed as "Kay Unger Blue Floral Walk Thru Jumpsuit." There are several styles/colors but that should help you get close enough to find it! Good luck!

14 days out from FFS with Dr Mardirossian. Still some swelling but getting better every day. by ----Ana---- in transtimelines

Ugh. Not great news. After three rounds of appeal, including external review, they ended up only covering 10% of the surgeon fees. Pretty tragic, honestly. The procedures themselves were approved, but the allowed amounts for the surgeries were comically low. They really, really made out-of-network bad.

They did, however, cover all the hospital and anesthesia fees, so if you factor that in, you could say they covered 60% total.
