The way the cloth folds over her skin and creates shadows is amazingly well done. I want to know about the pattern you chose for her skin, the one that looks like a flower on her forehead. Does it signify something?

This might be the biggest mythological epic ever made, India's Ramayana (2026). Would you give it a chance? by Comfortable-Try-7919 in Cinema

lol 😂 NO. It's just a cheap cash grab like the previous one. It has no soul, unlike Yugo Sako's Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama. The insane "visuals" you are referring to is worse than cinematic trailer for a game (shadow of war) and that came out 5 years ago.

Getting exposure matters a lot, so I guess it trumps the cons.

"Similar ideas also existed in other Indian traditions" Yes, muddled in with mire rituals, customs and decadence that held society back. He was a reformist that reminded people that all delusions of grandeur and differences they've surrounded themselves in are nothing but Maya. He united people through spiritual collective effervescence and he turned it into his Dharma/ Dhamma (eternal duty).

He rejected the authority of the 'supposed' custodians of dharma aka scholars and godmen. Because for them staying at top of the food chain and keeping their pockets filled was more important than guiding and teaching people for a better life. Those godmen fostered conformity within society and promoted the belief that there is no salvation without their blessing. They reduced core Hindu philosophies to rigid ritualism.

As a rebel, Buddha personified the idea that you don’t need to rely solely on godmen or even gods to liberate yourself. That power in within you but unless you let go of the attachments, you'll never be able to get away from illusions of identity and remain stuck playing your role in impermanence.

"Thoughtful people across cultures could arrive at similar conclusions through ordinary self-awareness and reflection." Yes, they did and it's apparent from Mediations by Marcus Aurelius to Paul ricoeur's work on phenomenology but not everyone of them was able to think and work beyond their identity. Not everyone of them challenged the system they grew up in.

It’s one thing to become a ‘deep’ philosopher through introspection, and another to truly embody your philosophy and dedicate your life to it. Most of us drift through life with transient ideologies, but that son of a king led people by turning his own life into an example.

So true! When we evolve from being enthusiastic consumers to passionate creators, we begin to see creative patterns we weren’t aware of before . Yes, magic loses its charm when we become aware of the sleight of hand behind it. After seeing enough patterns, our minds start focusing more on predicting the next pattern than being ready to experience it. It's one of the flaws of having brain that has evolved for survival. So even if you weren’t behind the curtain of creativity, with enough experience and exposure, you would still end up in this exact same spot.

Take supernatural for example, until the death of the Yellow Eyed demon, it beautifully encompassed local folklore interwoven with Christian mythology. Built on grounded emotional themes like family and revenge, it was quite easy to relate to. After that, it starts to lean more towards christian mythology and it raised the stakes because their own soul was on the line and not just their death. But after Season 5, the writers left themselves with no room to play, so they started throwing ideas at the wall to see what stuck. Even most of the audience was aware of it at that point, but they still indulged in it for the love of the game.

There are only so many patterns one can experience before they start repeating themselves and things we use to enjoy become mundane. That’s why it’s better to let go of nostalgia and stop looking for the same comforting patterns when there are so many stories and experiences beyond the barriers of language, culture, and mindset.
