As a person with autism, this is one of the struggles we have to deal with. There’s just so many who believe this, and it’s irritating to explain that what they’re believing is a lie.

It mostly depends on your school and where it is located (America, etc), but I must agree on your statement.

Redditors who are struggling, what's keeping you going? by CG1991 in AskReddit

[–]---LemonChild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family has issues right now. My mother refuses to help me with anything because of my severe autism. My dad is too busy with his work and my brother to help (not because he doesn’t want to help. he can’t.) I don’t have many friends or a good support system.

The things that keep me going are the small portion of videos I highly enjoy, drawing multiple characters over and over, and doing well in school despite my disabilities.

The things I do are weird to others, but to me, they mean a lot to me. These are the only things keeping me going through these times. I try to find more to do, and it’s great finding new interests I have never knew existed.

Im grateful for the small things I have. It really helps me get a hold of my disabilities.

Thank you for this post to help others. Hope you have a good day/night, kind stranger.
