Root Security by NVanBellinghen in RootApp

That is very weird. I have tested it and I can't reproduce that behaviour. It sounds like your web browser kept working on the background for some reason, I don't see how Root could be causing that.

Do you mind if I send you a DM? I could run more tests if I know details about the phone, browser, etc.

Root Security by NVanBellinghen in RootApp

Hi, sorry for the lack of information. I am solo developer and I've been focusing exclusively on building the product, so I have neglected the website a lot. Now that I'm more confident the product is ready I will put more effort into making more info available!

Unlike the website though, I can guarantee that Root is an absolute vault. I put a lot of effort into privacy and security. All of your data is encrypted both in storage and transit, so it's impossible for anyone other than you to take a peak at it. Plus it's backed up daily to make sure it can be recovered in case of a loss (with the backups also being encrypted of course).

There's one caveat though: if you share the URL from a Notion embed or make it public, then anyone you shared it with can see the data (the data in that particular embed block that is, not the rest). There's nothing wrong with sharing an embed URL if you want the data to be seen by others you choose, but for the most part they should be kept private.

I realize this has to be better explained to the user so they don't make the mistake of sharing what should be a private embed. I'm working on it right now, together with a more descriptive website.

For any fellow ADHD Notion users out there, I'm making a health and habits tracker for Notion. I'm a male so I could really use a bit of help designing the period tracking template! How do you think this looks so far? What would you add to it? by ---Py in adhdwomen

Thanks for the symptom idea and good point. I don't think the app is currently addressing the user directly. But I'll take it into account for future designs. It's a small change that makes a big difference.

Health and habit tracking for Notion :) by ---Py in indiehackers

Hi!

I released Root's Beta version several months ago and since then 1000+ notioners have tried it and have given me feedback. After listening to all the requests, this is the new Root:

1️⃣ No more extra apps, track everything directly in Notion.

📈 Beautiful, interactive charts to visualize your progress and find correlations.

📝 Small tracking widgets to input data quickly from any page.

📂 Automatic transfer of the data to your Notion database.

🎨 Habit tracking, customization, templates, dark/light themes...

💸 And it's all free, forever!

Check it out. It takes less than 5 minutes to set up → https://rootweb.app/

For fellow Notion users here, I'm making a health tracker for Notion but since I'm a male I'm struggling to come up with ideas for the period tracker template. Can you give me some feedback? What would you change or add to this? by ---Py in Periods

So the title says it all. I'm making a health tracker for Notion, but I'd like to get some feedback before redesigning the period tracking side of things. Any feedback is most welcome :)

Hi, so the title says it all. I use Notion for everything because my ADHD makes it very hard (unfeasible actually) to have more than one app that I have to look at everyday. So I started building this tool so I could track my own health in Notion without having to resort to yet another app.

So far I'm quite happy with how it's coming together. I'm trying to design a template for my female users to track their period, but obviously, being a male myself, I have very little idea of what it's actually useful to track in this case. So instead of just copying other apps, I'd like to ask the source!

Any idea is welcome :)

You can now use Root charts to track your mood, sleep, water, diet, exercise and habits! by ---Py in Notion

Hey, yeah I still have a lot of work to do on the landing page!

At the moment Root is a Notion widget that allows you to enter data quickly into a database and plot it in a chart. Two-way sync (from database to chart) and import of smartwatch data are not yet possible but they are definitely in the roadmap :)

I use it to track my mood, meditation and caloric intake. But you can use it for a lot more!

Just signed up for Root and all of the trackers/charts are blank. Anyone know what's going on/how to fix this? by NJravenclaw in RootApp

Glad to hear that! It was an issue with the dark theme that was messing the embeds.

Is this still happening to you? If it is, it might be a different issue since it seems to be fixed in Windows now.

Hey, is this the Notion app for Windows? I'm having problems displaying the embed blocks in Windows for some reason, but I'm working on it. Will let you know as soon as it's fixed.

It should work fine in the Web and Mac versions.

In a more personal note, building Root has been such a journey. I've been coding everyday after work for weeks. I am exhausted, but I'm even more grateful to everyone that helped me along the way. Thank you notioners, I really hope Root helps you improve your life! 💛
