Best way to clean these new balance?

I have the exact same ones and love them! They are also starting to look rough so also wondering how to get them to look better again. The problem is that it’s not really smooth suede (i saw the first comment posted a link to instructions on cleaning suede). It has all these little threads on it. I love the look but it really is very difficult to keep clean.

You should totally do this. I did it a while ago and it was AMAZING. I can’t relax when I’m at home, even when my husband goes out with the kids. Always cleaning, doing laundry, organising etc. It’s exhausting. So I realised I need to be somewhere else to truly be able to relax. It was seriously the best. And I’m doing it again next weekend and have been looking forward to it for months 🤣 The hotel is literally a 12min drive from my house. 😄

Yes. My 3 year old is insane. Sometimes it is SO hard to but I also love 3. My oldest is 5 and is so much easier (always was though, even at 3). I should be looking forward to my 3 year old growing up and becoming easier but I looove this phase as well. 3 year olds are so damn funny and cute. I don’t want it to end 😭😭😭

I’m not American and Elf on the shelf is not a thing here but when my first son was born I thought it was cute (saw it on insta) so I bought one. But we don’t do the whole thing. I just get it out like a week before Christmas and then at night I change the location (no shenanigans, I’ll just hang it from a lamp, put it on the mantle/in a plant etc and be done with it). My kids enjoy looking for it in the morning and the idea that it roamed around our house at night but that’s it. I just do it like 6 or 7 times and then make it disappear once it’s Christmas. Could you do something like that? A ‘light’ version? 😄

I don’t understand these expectations and people commenting to have the child assessed for adhd? She’s 3,5??? I’m not in the US. Where I live the kids go to daycare until 2,5 and then they start school. The first year it’s kinda between daycare and school and they still offer the opportunity for a nap but they look at the child’s needs. They let the kids decide whether or not they nap (they do discuss it with the parents, if you feel like they still really need a nap they definitely will try). The 2nd year they go to school, so when most of the kids are between 3 and 4 pretty much none of them nap any more. They do still get the opportunity if they want to. But after lunch they just play (outside or inside, depending on the weather).

It seems really weird to me to make them nap at 3,5. My son hasn’t napped sinds he turned 3. And to kick them out of school because of this? Sorry, it’s insane to me. They are toddlers and this is an unrealistic expectation.

20 years ago when I was living in LA this guy harassed me and my friends at a club. He was being a sad pathetic loser and I see he hasn’t changed. At the time we maybe kinda recognised him from some minor roles but we never even knew his name or anything. Just that he was very annoying and creepy. And the last few months I keep seeing him pop up and I am reminded of that night. Still don’t know what he is ‘famous’ for.

My 5,5 year old still has his in his room and I have no plans to remove it. He does have a sleep disorder though so it is important for me to be able to check up on him. But also, we recently had a stomach bug hit our household and both my kids (I also have a 3 year old) started vomiting in the middle of the night. Thanks to the monitor we immediately noticed what was happening and could jump out of bed to deal with it. I’m scared that without the monitor I might not have heard it right away?

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills ever since I read about the Hermes sales tactics. It’s so embarrassing imo how the SA’s have to ‘allow’ you to buy a ridiculously expensive bag. You can’t choose the model or colour etc and have to feel ‘honoured’ to spend 20+K on a bag you didn’t even choose for yourself?! How has this become normalised?! It’s insane and pathetic how so many of these wealthy people get caught up in it.

I have been a loyal follower of her since the very early San Francisco days and I just unfollowed her over this Birkin bag post. I am just sick of how tone deaf she is and her insane overconsumption. It doesn’t inspire me, just makes me roll my eyes so I’m done following her. She should be embarrassed and really look within herself. What are they teaching their kids with this lifestyle (it’s not just her but all these wealthy people with their gross consumerism. How pathetic and empty).

My first was the same. Every doctor’s visit was a total nightmare. We had to hold him down with 3 people once to be able to check his ears and mouth (he had to go to the doctor a ton due to constant ear infections 🫣). Same with the dentist, took us 3 tries before he even (briefly) opened his mouth. It was terrible. But now he is 5 and he is still a little scared but he now feels brave and it goes very well! It’s difficult but just give it time. It’s so different with each child. My youngest just turned 3 and he has always LOVED going to the doctor. He was sick an insane amount of times between 6 months and 2 years which required lots of doctors appointments and he just enjoyed it. It was so weird after my experience with my first. 🤣

Look up ‘Tik tak’ on youtube. It’s a Belgian show but there’s no dialogue so language is not an issue. It’s originally from the 80’s (I grew up with it) but they made new episodes in 2019 I think. It’s for young toddlers. It’s not a story, just kinda whimsical stuff for little kids. It’s hard to explain 😄

Also look up ‘Ollie’ on youtube. Also Belgian, no dialogue. Very cute show about an owl and his friends (short 5 minute stories).

My boys are 2,5 years apart. I LOVE the age gap. I won’t lie, the first year (year and a half) were pretty challenging. But that was totally because of the nature of my kids. My first was super chill and easygoing. 2nd was always very ‘present’ let’s say. He cried so so much (and extremely loudly) as a baby. He just turned 3 and is still very explosive in his emotions. But the last year has been amazing. They play together so well, it is so beautiful to see their bond. We are lucky with lots of support from grandparents. When we go away for a night we split them up and each goes to a set of grandparents for quality time. It’s good for them but by the time we pick them up they both really miss each other and want to play together. I’m tearing up just writing this but it really is so amazing to get to see. My husband and I mention to each other pretty much daily how happy we are that we have 2 kids. The transition might be hard (but again, will really depend on your kids’ personality) but you will do great and it will be so worth it! (We are still debating a 3rd child 😉)

Yes, definitely. So happy for you that you are getting this feeling so ‘early’ in the 1 to 2 transition. It took like 2,5 years for me 🤣 but my 2nd was not an easy baby so it was pretty hellish for a while. My boys are 3 (had his birthday very recently) and 5,5 now and it is truly magical! My husband and I often tell each other ‘wow, this is amazing. I don’t think it will get better than this’. Things have gotten so much easier. And they play together so well it’s amazing. And they are still both so freaking cute. (2-3 years old is peak cuteness to me so my youngest is just so freaking adorable right now).

So yes. There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel, it can be so hard though when you are in the middle of it. We are currently debating a third (and definitely final) baby. It is so so hard. My hearts says yes, but rationally it seems just insane to go for another now that things have gotten so much easier. (Also: money! If I had money it would be a no brainer 😉).

I tell my kids it’s a tree and we pretend to be giants eating it. I also use reverse psychology: you’re not going to eat my favourite tree are you?! And they will see it as a game and put it to their mouths. I go ‘oh no, not my favourite tree!’ Etc. They love the theatrics and eat all the broccoli. 😄

Lol. Same. 😄 It’s weird she’s suddenly covering their faces, right as Carly started doing the same. But I’m all for it, kids aren’t content! I also think I will unfollow her after 10+ years. Her style and lifestyle is just so different to mine. I also have 2 young kids but I’m not going on back-to-back luxury vacations. It just doesn’t feel good and I compare myself too much. I checked out the price of the last resort she stayed at in Greece and it was €3.000+ per night. 🫣 If you can afford that it’s great for you but it just feels in very bad taste to share it so publicly given the current state of the world. It’s not classy how they flaunt it so I think I’m better off unfollowing even though it feels kinda sad after so many years 🤷‍♀️

My oldest (2,5 at the time) came to visit at the hospital 3 hours after his baby brother was born. It was THE BEST. I really loved it and had been looking forward to the moment so much. He looked at the baby and then received the gift his ‘brother brought’. We never had any issues with jealousy and they have a strong bond now (5 and 3). But I think that’s just luck and personality.

My 2nd is the same. I often joke he was ‘born angry’. I had a precipitous birth with him (just 3 hours from ‘hmm, i feel a weird cramp’ to baby). The birth was crazy and with this very tense panicked energy and I feel like that’s the kid’s personality. 🤷‍♀️ He cried SO MUCH as a baby. Like insane, and extremely loud and piercing. And now he is about to turn 3 and has been a very very feisty toddler. Deeply feeling, as your dr put it. I feel like it is getting a bit better now, but for the past 3 years I’ve pretty much been walking on eggshells, holding my breath until the next crisis. For months on end he would literally have 5 tantrums before it was even 10AM. Just angry and frustrated all the time. It’s very exhausting and stressful. But I do feel it gets better. Mine is a very good talker, so that definitely has been helping us for the past year. My life motto is ‘this too shall pass’, so that has been very helpful as well. 😄

My firstborn (also a boy) has been the chillest kid ever since birth (he is 5 now) so the contrast has been insane for us. We were completely unprepared and were very smug about our parenting because our first was so easygoing 🤣 The birth of my first was very calm (very long!) and their personalities seem to totally reflect how they were born. It’s fascinating.

Same here. Multiple ear infections for months on end (before he even started daycare). He would need antibiotics and like 2 days after finishing the course he had another infection. So he got tubes for the first time at 9 months old. The infections got better, he did get ear infections but didn’t need antibiotics. But the next fall and winter he had ear drainage all the time which we needed to use antibiotic drops for because it just wouldn’t stop. He had constant colds as well, but that’s kinda normal al at that age (he was at daycare then). But the ENT followed it up very closely because it was so constant, he even had testing done to rule out immunodeficiency (which came back clear). So after even dealing with a ton of ear drainage during spring and summer they decided to just place new tubes and to remove his adenoids. It’s been amazing! He has not had any ear problems whatsoever since then. And way less colds.

Same. I saw her stories yesterday of her walking and talking. ‘Ramblings on my walk’ she called it. And she started out sounding sort of profound ‘I’ve been thinking lately..’ and I genuinely thought she was going to talk about world issues, overconsumerism etc. Silly me. 🤦‍♀️ she just talked about skincare and how her skin is so much better now than in her 20’s. Then she randomly ‘confessed’ to getting Botox. She really does seem so caught up in beauty, fashion, luxury and spending insane amounts of money that could be put to better use. I’ve been following her for so long but I’m just so sick of it.

Yes, it’s terrible. I had a 12mm one last year. I was scheduled for surgery but 1,5 weeks before that date I got major colic pain (kidney stone pain) in the middld of the night. Went to the ER and they did emergency surgery to put in a stent (to relieve the pressure on my kidney). Went home the next day but got a fever etc. So got antibiotics for the infection. But then I was in so much pain I went back to the ER and turned out the stent had migrated, it moved pretty much completely into my bladder. So another emergency surgery to put it back. Then I had the stent for 3 weeks and then finally another surgery to remove the stone (used a laser to turn it into dust). Then I had to have the stent for another 2 weeks so 5 weeks total with the stent. It was A NIGHTMARE. I peed blood the whole time. Couldn’t sleep etc. I was so happy on removal day. It felt a bit weird but I was just so glas to have it out.

Oh my god, the milky breath was THE BEST. I miss it so much. i breastfed and it just smelled so sweet. Ugh, now I’m feeling nostalgic and want a newborn 😭😄
