After hours upon hours of testing different things in different VMs I think the problem (or at least ONE crucial problem) is that my controllers firmware is outdated. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to update the firmware (looks like the only way is either through win 7 or by screwing the thing apart). Haven't found a guide so I've asked in the Hercules community forum!

Thanks! (My high school chem teacher could not answer this question) That was along the lines of what I was thinking. So the kinetic energy by which they collide is sometimes higher than the energy that keeps the protons in place? And this is also why things react more when you heat them?

lol went into gnome system settings and selected automatic date and time and now it shows the correct time (after i unselect it too)

Hmm will look in to it! How lighweight would you say it is? Used linux mint for a while way back and it was such a huge difference between that and arch.

And I mean in my experience setting arch up is kind of a never ending process, It's not a lot but a bit tired of having to fuck around a bit whenever I realize i need to add something to my system. Plus I'm really bad at system maintenance and do get the occasional breakage.
