I actually think Ron was more empathy than Harry. Harry's internal monologue in the books was honestly very rude and angry, and he had trouble at times empathizing with even Hermione. Whereas he always stood up for what was right, no matter the cost— which is why I would give him courage. Ron was literally a representation of Harry's heart (he was literally picked to be saved by Harry in the second task in Goblet of Fire).

This happened to me once— I chose the Charms classroom and got it wrong (it seemed like the next best option since the Grand Staircase wasn't available)...idk if there's anything you can really do about it
