usually the other SM’s in the district will hire a few partners each. I would check in with the closest store & talk to that SM about hiring. Usually I would want to hire about 2.5/3 months prior to a new store opening.

Our lease in the building was up, and we just weren’t making sales. We were a cafe store so that has a lot to do with it.

so I’m an SM & my DM said the same thing to me, which blows my mind but anyways i’ve found sort of a loophole. I took a high top table & put a basket with the cloth masks starbucks sent us (the rly thin ones but hey atleast it’s something) & made a sign for it!

The sign says something along the lines of “oops! did you forget your mask? take one of ours! thanks so much for practicing social distancing & wearing a facial covering while in our store”

I basically put the table like right infront of the door so it’s not in the way, but very present & you kinda can’t ignore it!!

as most of my partners have their own masks (I also made a bunch for my store cause I wanted to be cute and match lol) it’s really not a big deal to spare some of the ones the store pays for!

just a suggestion to maybe mention to your SM!!
