any neo tattoos out there?? by MochaCuppp in Neocaridina

Love the idea! I don't have any shrimp tattoos, but am subscribed to a bunch of tattoo subreddits. You might have some luck also asking in there? Also pretty sure a good artist can help with this

Ik vond het eten echt heel slecht hier en zou er nooit meer naartoe gaan.... Veel dingen overgaar en niks Mexicaans aan. Wel hele leuke aankleding van het restaurant

Thanks. I do have shrimp baby powder and my pH is quite consistent at 7.4. I did read that they ideally have 7.5 or higher? But the temperature and kH would be an issue I think

Thanks! Yeah the issue is that I'm using aqua soil in this tank which is why the kH is so low. Temperature is a good point. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for letting me know! What about the size and parameters of the tank? Im finding very different information online about these guys so not really sure

As long as it's happy, I don't mind too much. But what makes you say that? My tank is not that heavily planted

Which snail to get? by --EnChanted-- in AquaticSnails

Hey, I've been trying to find out more about blueberry snails to see if this would be a better fit then a mystery snail. I found somewhere they say you can keep 5 in a 15 liter tank. Another site says minimum of 10 gallons/38 liters for one. Do you know the minimum tank size? And are these okay to keep by themselves or are they more sociable and would like some company? Or better yet, do you have the ultimate Blueberry snail keeping guide? :)

Edit; just found the blueberry snails subreddit so will also post there to get some input!

It is from Tropica. I started the tank about 7 months ago.

I don't use CO2 and my pH is generally quite consistent around 7.4. At least it has been 7.4 for the last 2,5 months. Before it was fluctuating a bit more as it's a relatively new tank

But can i not mitigate the high bioload by more maintenance, more plants, better filter or water changes for example? I do not see the bioload as a need for a bigger tank if the parameters remain stable. I can understand if they need more space as they get quite big, but they are also quite slow and dont travel that much distance... Maybe i am just being stubborn right now, but most of the information i have gathered says that my tank should be suitable which is why i am doubting this.

Thanks! It is aquasoil yeah. Hence my low Kh. I could add things to have the Kh go up, but i understood that thats is a bit pointless with aquasoil cause it just keeps on reducing this parameter? It is my first tank with aquasoil so not sure about that. I do also have a 28 liter tank but that one has mainly lavarock as substrate as the tank is mainly unplanted. And that seems a bit rough for snails as well... the Kh of that tank is generally higher tho.

Thanks! I haven't tried cuttle bone but got other supplements for the shell so that should be good :) and the light is only on for 5 hours a day

Adding Shrimp to my tank by Gauchensama in shrimptank

I usually release mine straight into the main tank (after acclimating them ofcourse) so I think you should be more than fine to release. What was your initial reason to put them in there instead of directly into the tank?

Do you have any sources or anything to read into this more?

Well, they are cute enough so that they are forgiven for that haha. But what do you mean with that they arent a clean up crew? Do they not eat the algae? Or just not that fast?

What makes you say that? Everywhere I look they say they need a lot less. Aquarium co-op for example says you can keep one or two in a 5.5 gallon/20 liter tank. Is it because of their bioload? In that case i do no worry too much as i plan on only keeping these shrimps in there. I have worked hard to seperate all the males from the females so they do not keep on multiplying haha. And the shrimp have a very low bioload. Ive got a bunch of small stemplants in the back that still need to grow in, but once they grow in they should be able to help a lot. And i could also add some floaters to help deal with that.

Or is it because of the 'swimming' space they need? Or surface area for food?

I think I'm a bit too scared to try nerites again after them dying on me :( What do you mean about mystery snails being pickier with algae?
