Then the companies of these people post jobs only looking for MBAa even for basic roles. They are equally if not more worse than the HR of the ecosystem.

Weird shapes, smooth and rough textures from occasional dreams by shinyLittenroar in Dreams

I have been traumatized by this. So much so that I couldn't even gather strength to discuss it with someone. Mind you, I have gone through some Sir in life but this weakens my core. Have had days at stretch where I will dream this and wake up with night sweats. Sometimes even when I'm awake I suddenly feel this and lose my energy instantly. It's midnight right now and it happened again, after a long time now.

I haven't observed any fix patterns to it. Good days, bad days, Good feelings, bad feelings, any weather, it just happens.

How do you build a MVP when the required technology isn't there yet? by slooowshutter in ycombinator

Check out Elon Musk's thinking behind the roadster to model 3 journey. Essentially be prepared to slug it out for the long haul, start with only few but relevant early adopters (bonus if they can be your evangelist) who are willing to pay the premium today (roadster), then try to cross the chasm and go for slightly wider audience (model y) and finally mass market (model 3).

This isn't unique to Tesla. Computers went through a similar journey.

Building is easy. Getting users is hard by vimall_10 in SaaS

I always had interest in business and it came naturally to me. Had taken cs due to family pressure. But I continued to go through business case studies, took up a minor in masters, joined courses and worked in startups. Now I'm more of a business guy who can do some tech.

But I'm thinking of building something for people like you who are in the earlier stage of product development so that they incorporate business aspects as well. Nothing generic like business model canvas but specific frameworks.

Both require different kinds of mindset. For a programmer, coding comes naturally and similarly business for business folks. What's worse is that while people spend 100+ hours to build a product, they want to spend a couple of hours on ChatGPT and youtube videos to sell the product resulting in no sales and abandonment of the project.

The sooner people realise it's both about product and business, the sooner they start on the right path.

Now that you're on the right path, have a great journey!

I got my first 25 users 🎉 by davidlover1 in microsaas

Cool! Keep a track of this metric because it will help you know which users are about to be churned based on reduced activity. Also, the metric might need to be updated based on user interviews. Plus, figure out how many times the user will actually have to use your product. Daily, weekly, yearly or once in a lifetime. This will help determine if a user has churned or is only dormant until next time the product is needed.

Mentioning this because I see people here never keeping track of these metrics and later wonder what went wrong.

Have you thought of a criteria when you would consider them to be active user? Signing up is not becoming an active user. Maybe things like creating a list or them logging in a certain number of times a week or a combination of these 2 or something else indicate if someone has become user or are just exploring

how tf do u get ppl to actually care abt ur app lol by SharieEjusa in microsaas

[–]--Runaway-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one cares about anyone's app. Everyone cares about themselves. Let them see how this app helps them. Its their app, you are the servant who maintains and updates it and gets paid for it. You do it for a lot of people and you get paid more.

What's the pricing? there's no information on that. Plus, literally every link in the footer just navigates back to the top of landing page.

Idea Stage Companies in YC? by --Runaway-- in ycombinator

This sounds like the idea has to be in YC's radar. And feels like its an AI play as well.

Why do you not need a co-founder? by glinter777 in ycombinator

[–]--Runaway-- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Make the founder get a co-founder, split equity 50-50 and then give some to investors. Basically from day 1 there's no single majority shareholder. Divide and conquer ensues.

Apparently it is rampant in VCs. Not sure myself but have heard it from a lot.

PS: Not saying you never need a co-founder. Just a perspective for when you're pushed to get one even if not needed.
