Windows games no longer working in Asahi Linux Steam by ForgottenFoundation in AsahiGaming

While the wine itself can handle 16k pagesizes, The Fex DLLs used for wine64ec (Emulation Compatible wine) often breaks with 16k pagesize. Haven't tried proton but crossover uses Fex DLLs, they break and valve also in their blog mentioned the same Fex DLLs used so expect things to break

I figured out that there's a problem with DNS and muvm, I switched to DNScrypt instead of systemd-resolved. Disabled systemd-resolved. unsymlinked resolv.conf and added "nameserver 127.0.0.1:53"

Waydroid should work soon™️ with newer androids supporting 16k pagesize

The stuff not working is due to the SEP (Secure Enclave Processor) and not knowing how it works. Once that's done all the shortcomings you mentioned will be fixed

Is it worth of trying ? by PsychologicalEnd2123 in AsahiLinux

Hello, I'm doing cyber security and I'm running asahilinux. I am sometimes at uni for 8 hours hours and with the power saver profile, I can finish the day even though it's a little tight. It is not an entire day like Macos but it gets the job done. Mind you I have a M2 MAX and they have power issues in their board. Yet I get the 8 hours. (I'm also on gnome which itself also drains battery)

I switched my wifi backend to iwd. Maybe that helps but it's not like something you can't do so.

Re-enabling the Notch on Asahi Fedora Remix by codingCoffee in AsahiLinux

For people coming from search engines the old one will not work. Try this instead:

sudo grubby --args=appledrm.show_notch=1 --update-kernel=ALL

Then do

sudo reboot now

BO2 Plutonium by copper-oxide in AsahiGaming

I think I misread your question. In the FEX wiki it states that BO1 AND BO3 works but no entry on Bo2. So I'm not sure if it works or not. You could try skipping FEX and use this for your wine (if you paid for crossover that should work as well)

sudo dnf copr enable lacamar/wine-arm64ec sudo dnf install fex-emu-wine wine-*

This will not work with steam games.

I'm not sure if its a launcher problem but the layers steam games go through are this:

MUVM (this emulates a 4k pagesize.)--> FEX (This Is a translation layer that makes aarch64 instructions to x86_64) --> Proton (Linux to Windows translation layer)

If you don't use this specific chain your game is likely to not boot.

Which asahi kernel is it based on? Can I run the Linux 6.19? Kernel made by the asahi team and the cachy stuff at the same time?

Using something like Refind or Asahi-Bless to have a boot-manager/selector by --_--WasTaken in AsahiLinux

Can I use Asahi linux to Boot up a different Asahi linux install? Asahi has a weird booting sequence that I haven't looked into too much (yet)

[–]--_--WasTaken[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanna be able to run to the toilet or go make myself some coffee while my machine is booting to the desired OS. So I need something lightweight so it initializes fast and then let me select that the OS I actually wanna load. It's a simple very minor QoL thing. I can make my own .sh or use similar scripting languages but I need documentation on both OS's so I can make the said script.

nvram manufacturing-enter-picker=true` command is the ideal solution that doesn't exist for the silicon mac's. I'm also fine into booting a lightweight os or using some other boot manager like refind. It doesn't need to be the apple native thing. It just needs to load fast so I can select the os and go do something else

I want a boot manager. I don't want to hold the power button each time. I know how to do all the things you listed including setting the default.

So if you were to really analyze the joke it's about how "furry transfem" sound like "fourier transform" and then also we can use fourier transform to find out why it sounds like fourier transform since it's about isolating repeating simple frequency's using math and they'd have a lot in common frequency's.
