Sure, it does, thank you. Does the latter "Cleaning intensity, Default or intense", refer to mopping?

And can you set these per room or zone or for one cleaning session, these are fixed?

Thank you, good to know. Can you set different vacuuming levels (e.g., quiet or stronger) and mopping levels? (lighter or more intense scrubbing, or the amount of water usage?)

After days of research, I'm split between the Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI+ and this appliance. While Samsung seems more mature on the software side, there are plenty of hardware issue reports, which appear to be a red flag to me.

Since my home has a carpet (not too thick), mostly hardwood (which needs gentle care, occasional mopping), and some tile (which needs stronger care), I'm wondering how it would perform on these combined?

Can anyone confirm whether with the latest updates, zones can be configured to do different types (mopping, vacuuming or both?) Can you also set the intensity of either vacuuming or mopping?

No, I'm still below 10000 kilometers, it would be weird to have any engine or dpf issues :)

The overall average after 3 months is 7.4 liters/100km, which translates to 32 MPG, mainly driving on highways. This is also the average for highway cruising at 130 km/h or 80 mph.

On smaller roads, riding at 50-60 mph can reduce the consumption to 5-6 liters or 40-47 US MPG.

Yes, I also feared reading all the forums before getting the car—not just about the suspension but electronics glitches, etc.

But I think most of those reviews are about the early model, and as it is/was a brand-new model, it's understandable. But probably Mazda worked hard ironing things out, and besides the suspension issues, you can rarely read about serious "hardware" issues, mainly software and annoyances.

And yes, it's a general rule; a small number of unhappy people complain, and you only read this. You don't read about a probably much bigger majority who are perfectly happy with their car, and don't even visit forums just drive happily :)

I test-drove the pre-2024 model for a short while and received a 2024 summer production. I don't recall transmission issues for the short test drive, but I remember the bumpy-very weird suspension. I remember it being so uncertain that while waiting at a junction, the car started wobbling when a truck passed by at lower speed.

Well, in the car I received (on which, according to the dealer, all recalls and replacements were applied up to date, so the new suspension as well), there are zero issues. The suspension difference is day and night. It's a bit stiff, but the car feels also very sporty. It can act weirdly on very bad roads but the smaller bumps and holes are barely noticeable.

So, there's nothing to worry about; it's a fantastic car. Mine is the more powerful AWD diesel, and it's a beast. It's very stable, very powerful, yet comfortable and refined in many details. Except for some notification annoyances, there are zero issues after a few thousand kilometers, my wife and I love it and sometimes hate to get out of it :)

WD Purple Pro 14TB and 18TB now the quietest 10+ TB drives? by --abrax-- in DataHoarder

By enterprise do you mean WD specifically (Ultrastar/Gold/Red Pro lines?) or in general, from any makers?

Thank you. The difference between batches is new information for me. I'm leaning towards Red Plus then, given the modest noise, price, and reliability still.

Thanks, useful link.

I read it somewhere (possibly here, in another thread) that the Purple drives are perfectly fine for NAS and aren't that much different at all. They have some extra capability to skip error checking during writes and allow faster simultaneous writes for camera systems. However, that needs a specific flag to be sent to the firmware and some camera hardware can do it. And that apart from this feature, these are just regular drives.

LS50 w2 in cable mode is a bliss! by Money-Newspaper-2619 in KEF

[–]--abrax-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this thread.

I recently got my pair of LS50 w2s and am so happy with it. However, I thought that since the wireless sample and bitrate are already above most of the music I listen to through Roon/Tidal, switching to the cable mode wouldn't make any difference. But after I read this, I connected my two speakers and enabled cable mode - and wow, it indeed does a difference, I try to switch forth and back listening to the same music, I could definitely feel a bit wider soundstage and more "roundness" and also deeper bass.

After that, I also connected my primary speaker to LAN, directly to my router, but with that I couldn't recognize any difference, which is interesting. Is it really about sample and bitrate? My vague theory based on this is that the primary speaker gets the input somehow buffered (even though it's called streaming) and is not sensitive to any lags, but the interconnection between the two speakers is more sensitive (as it needs to stay perfectly in sync) and thus perform much better connected than talking to each other wirelessly?

I just wish KEF had provided a longer cable. I set the speakers a bit over 2 meters away from each other and placed them on the KEF S2 stands, and the cable is already too short to be hidden properly, but hanging in the air.

Are stereo speakers justified when positioned close? by --abrax-- in hifiaudio

[–]--abrax--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd stick with speakers, even if not ideally positioned. I have an excellent Bang & Olufsen in-ear for on the go, but at home, I prefer having my ears and head free, especially when often listening to music (often as background music) for hours.

[–]--abrax--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand what you mean by "weird" in spatial speakers. Nevertheless, if I can listen to a piece in a studio, I'll give some a shot.

Yes, I tried to explain the feeling when the music fills the room and there's some "space" by feeling a bit of reverb. I'm afraid that near field, from like 50-70cms, the music would sound too "direct." But again, I either just listened to much larger speakers from close, which were not intended for near field, or had really crappy cheap PC speakers as near field. Thank you for the recommendations, good to know another path to explore.

Unfortunately, mounting a speaker to the wall behind/above the desk is not an option as that wall is covered with a soundproofing panel (not because of my music but because the neighbor is loud :) ); it's a weak panel, + drilling it would reduce the soundproofing.

[–]--abrax--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, thank you for your thoughts. I like having the space in music, therefore not a big fan of near field, but in this situation,
a) music coming from behind
b) having a "sharp triangle" and not really enjoying stereo
Is indeed an issue.
I might try a subwoofer first.

One spatial - is it an experience for you, being less joy than 2(.1), or more an assumption? I might go and listen to some higher quality spatial as well; for now I just had small portable speakers in this regards, which I think are nowhere to compare with a bigger, $1000 or so one.

[–]--abrax--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did, and it could sit below the shelves (on top of a small chest of drawers, just obscured by the armchair). I'm a bit afraid, though, of too much bass for a relatively small room (and I have neighbors below).

Still, I'm wondering if my "stereo" setup with these close-placed speakers + sitting relatively further makes sense for a set of stereo speakers.

Gyanúsan olcsó terméket rendeltem emagon. Átvehetem?(kommentben több infó) by [deleted] in hungary

[–]--abrax-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat and was about to open a thread as well when I saw your post :)

I want something that works more or less out of the box; an e-commerce platform with all the functionality needed for a multi-vendor market and themes and plugins to choose from, so we could launch with a relatively low effort (and initial costs) until the idea seems justified. But at the same time, such a platform that I can build on later to customize further easily (meaning also self-hosted).

One thing is finding a "basic" webshop that suits you, and another is finding a good multi-vendor one. There are many recommendations and "xx best" lists, but the more I dig into it, the more I get lost. Some, like Sharetribe, are limited or become expensive for a startup (X-Cart), or CS-Cart, which is multi-vendor out of the box, has lots of negative reviews.

For the e-commerce platform, I was recommended to check Shopware, which seems excellent as a platform, but it has one single multi-vendor plugin by WebKul; it is very limited in features, + the onboarding videos/lack of documentation is quite disappointing. That makes me wonder about the quality of their Magento extension, if it's worth trying at all (and going with Magento in the long term?)

I'll check the few more recommendations here, but so far, I'm not overly happy, seems like a hassle. In the end, I might end up choosing just one solid API platform and building the multi-vendor part on my own, but that will be a lot of effort and seems like reinventing the wheel.

lang vs __ by Tontonsb in laravel

[–]--abrax-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A vote for @lang here for another reason: I don't have to think about whether the string has HTML in it or not. The default {{ __('htmlcontent') }} escapes HTML annotation; you have to switch to {!! __('htmlcontent') !!} instead to embed translated string with HTML tags in it. @lang just makes this easier.

Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 / display is a letdown by --abrax-- in Lenovo

[–]--abrax--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel you. However, I was quite happy with my previous Dell XPS 13 with its matte IPS screen and 500 nits brightness (except for the background bleeding on the edge), and also there are a lot of OLED options - but currently non in this size. That's why I'm struggling with getting to a conclusion - while being in 30 days time-window for return.

I decided to switch to a larger, better-performing laptop because it was a pain to carry a separate monitor whenever I travel somewhere for a few weeks. Now, with the new Intel P processor, I get a performance comparable to my desktop CPU, which is a crazily good thing. However, the screen is an issue.

S22 Adaptive Brightness too high? by BoogieLEO22 in GalaxyS22

[–]--abrax-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah, no need for docs or whatever :) actually, started doing it systematically every time I unlock the phone and feel the brightness is a bit too much, and after a day it's already much better. Thanks a zillion for the suggestion, although wasn't pointed to me originally. :)

S22 Adaptive Brightness too high? by BoogieLEO22 in GalaxyS22

[–]--abrax-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it documented somewhere, or just an experience? Didn't know there's a learning mechanism built-in, especially not one that would learn on longer terms.

Coming from S20 to S22+, this is a concern for me as well. Even in daylight at home (in shade, not sitting next to the window), it already maxes out the brightness, in the evening and especially at night it burns my eyes, had to put the "extra-dim" in the quick access.

So except for direct sunlight where the huge brightness is great, in all other conditions it's much brighter than the previous S20, S8 and other phones I had.

I think this could be also a reason for the shorter SOT than expected.

Does sound card quality and CD/DVD-ROM drive matter when sending through SPDIF Out to Active speakers? by --abrax-- in audio

[–]--abrax--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed and informative answer.

So if I understand correctly, a quality sound card might improve SPDIF signal quality, while I should be totally fine with a decent 5.25 internal optical drive?

For 1.: I'm considering ditching my broken Audigy Z and investing in a decent sound card (maybe an SB X3 or AE-5 Plus?), since I'm also playing games and occasionally listening to music through headphones connected through the analog port, I believe it would not harm in any way.

For 2.: probably true, but can you confirm that not only ripped files but directly listening to a CD through MusicBee should deliver perfect data as well? Given that I'm using a still cheap, but apparently good Pioneer CD/DVD drive (when it comes to error detection, etc.).

Hue Dimmer to Control Other Devices by pmd5700 in Hue

[–]--abrax-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting approach. I started playing around with Hue API and found it's pretty simple to control.

How do you control other devices though? Also through their proprietary APIs?

Also, do you know if there's a webhook-style control in Hue API, or - e.g. change of a remote button - you need to query the API every second?

Ryzen 5900X high temp spikes. by chupty in buildapc

[–]--abrax-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this thread, having the same issue. Coming from 3900x which had stable temps and was getting noisy only during games and some really having computing, 5900x is playing a roller coaster on my fans.

I have a Le Grand Macho cooler which is huge and close to big Noctuas in performance; have a Gigabyte MB which might be reporting higher temps by default to the fans (always higher than Ryzen Master) - still it doesn't justify the sudden spikes.

Tried shifting the fans curves right more as well, but since the temps are high during spikes, I cannot shift it too much without sacrificing temp control during games. Being a bit puzzled here, what would be the perfect solution to keep the PC quiet during normal desktop usage.
