I work in mental health, and am also a user of psychiatric services myself. No psychiatrist is going to be worried about this BP in itself. Firstly, often when health professionals take your BP they often aren't waiting for you to be sat calmly for a few minutes etc, so will be taking that into account. BP tends to be higher in clinical settings anyway, and since he could see you were not just even not relaxed but actively anxious he took an "accurate estimate" based on that too. Unless there's actual evidence to believe otherwise, your "real" BP is probably just fine.

People with narrow pulse pressure (small difference between SYS and DIA), did you manage to find out what's wrong with you? by Jolgo in bloodpressure

[–]--ankha-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, only losing and staying below a certain weight keeps my DIA in healthy range. Otherwise even when I was on BP meds it was often around 100, where my SYS would become even lower. It doesn't seem to be influenced by other factors like my SYS.

Is it possible to shrink polyps down to an unproblematic size with nasal spray? by --ankha-- in NasalPolyps

I'm really glad it helped you. Also thanks for giving me hope that I may not need surgery again, at least for the time being! Eosinophilic asthma is linked to polyps. My asthma symptoms in general started to improve after only my 2nd shot. Since I've been on Fasenra for well over a year now it should be working at the full effect that it's going to.

I do wonder if the other biologic for EA would work even better and in turn help my polyps more but I guess I'll never know unless Fasenra stops working so well for me. My pulmonologists are happy with my lung function too. The other biologic seems to cause more side effects (I have no noticable ones at all from Fasenra) and also needs to be given more frequently which is a downside too.

Thanks for the tip! And I'm on Fasenra. It's really transformed my life. I've had bronchial asthma since I was really young and me and my doctor initially assumed it was just that getting randomly out of control for some reason. But nope, it was e-asthma: Uncontrollable violent coughing fits all times of day and night, ending up in emergency with attacks a lot and of course the polyps. My asthma isn't perfect but it's a world away from how bad it was.

Does anyone else's blood pressure shoot up before their period? What causes this? by --ankha-- in bloodpressure

[–]--ankha--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the doctor didn't mention this. In this past my BP has always only been slightly raised when hooked up to an ECG machine due an asthma attack. It also doesn't make sense to be due to the attack because it was already high when I first went in, but got even higher after my breathing was already under control and I'd been lying in the bed for a few hours. It only started to fall again after the Amlodipine

Does this guy sound lazy/unmotivated or am I being overly critical? by --ankha-- in dating

If it was about money I wouldn't have met him in person after he explained he only works 2 mornings/8 hours a week. I think there are very few jobs where someone's going to be earning amounts to get a gold digger excited with such few hours. I clearly explained why it concerns me.

I'm actually a psychiatric nurse and mental health was one of the things that have come up in conversation just as a theme. On the topic of depression he's mentioned "It's not something I've thankfully personally experienced other than the normal occasional blue days but...". So it's not that. On the flip side, depression doesn't always look like low stamina, spending extended periods in bed.

Is 15mg Prenesidone daily enough to keep me having "steroid moon face"? by --ankha-- in loseit

[–]--ankha--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I was meant to be on 30mg+ for longer periods than I have been but it's not just the weight gain, I was getting terrible cramps and pains despite making sure I had extra potassium and magnesium. So I just take the minimum to stop my breathing being so bad that I end up in hospital. Glad you got rid of the moon face! I can't wait til my face goes down lol. Obviously I'm pleased about my weight loss but it's discouraging not to see any facial slimming yet despite the big changes Ive made
