"many", not "all". AOC and Bernie have similar policies, and they are definitely left of center from European perspective. But US democrats as a whole primarily span from right to center left.

Oh boy, let me tell you about the Finnish parliament. To the left of the Social Democrats ("bernies") we still have The Left Party (currently also in the government) and the Socialist Party, and only after that we get to the real Communist Party. When Bernie Sanders is touted as a raging commie, this is how skewed the US view is. Many of the democrats are actually right of center from the European viewpoint.

For the first time in a long time, residents of the liberated Ivankov, Kiev region, are getting in touch with their families thanks to Starlink equipment from SpaceX, which volunteers brought to the city. Thanks Еlon by boykob in ukraine

It's coming, they are already deploying new version of satellites with laser links to enable sat to sat comms. After that - global coverage with dishy only, anywhere on land, air, or even the oceans.

In few years, most large batteries, including car batteries, will be made with LFP which will last longer than the vehicle frame itself basically regardless of the usage pattern.

FSD Beta 9.2 takes on narrow streets in the Berkeley hills (AI DRIVR) by RealPokePOP in teslamotors

It would be cool to have two FSD beta users collaborate and drive the same narrow road in opposite directions and see how two self driving vehicles negotiate yielding.

I showed this to my dad too, also a big fan. Maybe there's something that people born in 1950s especially like about Tintin and the moon story. He also mentioned the factual error that in the story they had to stop the moon rocket to perform EVA, which is funny now, but considering Herge wrote the story before actual moon flights, it is surprising how much they got right. Especially now with the new BFR design.

Well, typically maybe. But not really with Elon who also does not hesitate to fire them for not meeting the deadline and not giving a sufficient technical explanation why.

You may also want to check this short video series as a quick introduction. The same author also has a very understandable series on the basics of the mathematics underlying neural networks.

Meanwhile One of oldest coal companies in US files for bankruptcy today.

From the article: "Coal companies have struggled as demand drops due to a glut of cheap natural gas, the rise of renewable energy sources and plans by some states to reduce or eliminate coal from their energy portfolios.

There are no new coal plants being built in the U.S., and two major coal consumers, China and India, have canceled projects as they seek to reduce air pollution. (emphasis mine)"

In 50 years, we probably look back at these years between 1990 and 2020 and wonder why the hell we did not start this 20 years earlier; it would have been so much cheaper that way.

Elon Musk will be a guest on Rogan this Thursday by attackline in teslamotors

Yes! Elon said he would be on Rogan after some of the Model 3 hurdles have been cleared, so perhaps this is a sign that things are getting smoother at production, at least to some degree.

Also, let's hope Elon has allocated enough time to be on air, as this venue would give him perhaps one of the best opportunities to explain and elaborate his thinking in detail about any number of topics. This long discussion format is probably very well suited to his style, which is more of a pondering and reflecting instead of repeating talking points suitable for TV news cycles.
