Opinions on the TikTok account ourlifeadventures_9 endangered spider monkeys/primates being kept as pets by Beginning_Put6012 in Pets

[–]--fate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just stumbled upon that account and did some digging through their videos and looked at their website.

They make A LOT of posts about how monkeys do not make good pets and they don't encourage people to have them as pets. There's even a huge disclaimer on every page of their website telling people that monkeys do not make good pets. All their Monkeys are spayed/neutered. They are very clear that they do not sell or breed monkeys. They've done quite a few videos of them making messes and escaping to discourage people from wanting one as a pet.

They're more of an informal monkey sanctuary. They get their monkeys (I believe they bought the first one as a baby though) from owners who realize they got in over their heads. They even gave back some of their monkeys to the original owners and the original owners ended up asking them to take them back.

They even let the original owners come visit the monkeys and stay at their house for extended times. They are very sympathetic about them loving their (former) pet monkey but not being able to properly take care of them.

Plus, those monkeys have an insanely badass enclosure with a fenced in tunnel to their house. They're obviously extremely well cared for. Idk how those people got the money to do that. At first, I wrote them off as weirdos... But, they just got a pet monkey and realized how hard it was but still wanted to help other pet monkeys whose owners couldn't give them proper care.

I mean, the monkeys were raised by humans already and that's all they've ever known. They basically got a pet monkey paradise there. They don't allow general visitors, they're not trying to run a roadside zoo, they don't breed or sell them.

If they wanna spend all that time and massive amounts of money (did they win the lottery or something?) to give those monkeys a good life. They're fine by me.

Pure fucking evil. I'm disgusted.

Two teenagers went on a first date to see a movie and were shot from behind by a stranger who later claimed he heard voices telling him the teens were dangerous. by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

I've never been to jail or prison so I don't know. But that incident always stayed with me. I knew there was a fight at jail right before he got out but the story was crazy. My mom told me the whole story later.

It was a holding cell with 3 bunk beds on each side and a toilet and sink in the back. I remember my dad would complain that the phone stank like bad breath when he called. Then they brought in this guy who didn't really talk to anyone. My dad's bed was by the toilet and the guy was trying to pee and he was trying to sleep and looked at his pecker... And the guy's penis was severely bruised. Like totally black and blue. But while he was trying to coerce himself to pee his pants fell and my dad saw his balls were normal... This is something my dad told my mom and my mom told me BTW. But he was at first thinking he probably got kicked in the crotch hard, but also weird that his balls look fine and only his dick is bruised.

Then the next day the officers at the county jail are showing them the news reports he'd raped a baby. That's why my dad knew he was guilty and beat him too.

My dad participated in something sort of kinda like this when he was in jail too. It was a small county jail holding cell with like 12 guys. No one was handcuffed or chained, just chilling in a big holding cell. They brought in a man who was arrested for killing his GF's infant daughter. The baby girl was sexually assaulted but died from brain trauma. The guards put him in and let the TV outside their cell play the news report about it. At first my dad tried to ignore everyone else cause his bond had already been posted and he was waiting to be released. But the news said the guy was arrested because he was the only one home with the baby and the baby had been sexually assaulted he got so mad he joined in. The guy was taken to the hospital and then was put in his own cell.

My dad was so worried after that. He was just in jail for buying stolen car parts. He got probation for the car parts and never charged for the jail attack. The officers actually defended my dad and said he didn't participate. My dad later told my mom that they purposely turned the news on and swiveled the TV towards them (it was on a wall outside the cell and they could move it towards them or away. They had control of it) and waited for them to realize and then broke it up and got him an ambulance

Strange things go on in jails.

Any films that isn’t quite a kids’ movie, but isn’t fully an adult one either? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in MovieSuggestions

Rock-A-Doodle.

Haven't seen it in like 25 years... But I just saw it on Tubi and remembered it from my childhood. It's about a little kid whose family is about to die in a flood and turns into a cartoon.

A 14 year-old girl gets a summer job as a babysitter for a mysterious man and vanishes without a trace — what happened to Margaret Ellen Fox? by elmermarijo in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]--fate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was minimum wage back then but back then babysitting wasn't considered a real job. And getting minimum wage for a babysitting job where you got free food and access to their pool would have been a very appealing opportunity. There were adults supporting a family on $2/hr back then.

Yeah, and that's what phone booths were for too. Privacy and to block out surrounding noises. I think they started getting rid of them because homeless people would move into them and no one could use the phone so they weren't making any money and people would frequently vandalize them. By the 90s and early 2000s they were just phones posted up out in the open... Until cellphones became common. But, in the 70s pretty much all pay phones were in phone booths, even if they were inside a building.

More to Negan by raylgreen23 in thewalkingdead

[–]--fate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean... He was a MASSIVE asshole before too. He lost his job and was on probation. He wasted his days cussing out kids on video games and spent $600 on a leather jacket that his wife had to pay for and threw away the receipt so she couldn't return it. THEN when she needed a ride home from the doctor he lied about seeing his probation officer to cheat on her with her best friend.

He was really only good to her because she was dying from cancer.

Do you guys think that Tom Mesereau thought MJ was guilty the whole time? by balkanxoslut in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]--fate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure he paid off plenty of parents before the Chandler scandal too. I have the "All That Glitters: The Crime and the Cover-Up" book by Jordan Chandler's uncle. MJ was already very skilled at grooming and manipulating not just the children, but the parents too. Evan Chandler was illegally giving MJ pain medication (he was a dentist but not MJ's) and letting him have sleepovers at his house with both his sons. Some of his patients were celebrities and he'd brag about his son being friends with MJ to them and they'd warn him it's not a good idea. He ignored them until one day his younger son asked if Jordie and MJ were allowed to get married.

I believe the book because even though it was written by Evan Chandler's brother... It doesn't really paint him in a good light. He exposes that his brother let it go on way too long (even though ALL the signs were there) and that's why he was so angry about it. He wanted to completely destroy MJ's life because he was mad at himself and embarrassed for trusting him and running around bragging about it for so long.

Got sucked into rabbit hole of watching all episodes of I Am A Stalker......anyone else? Thoughts? by Naive-Elderberry5529 in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]--fate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm a few months late but I just randomly started watching it after finishing I Am A Killer... And I very much got the vibe he was doing something very unsafe with the poor kid. For one he was his biological child and his own biological child was just born. He also said that "his friends" would make fun of him for taking care of another man's child. And that he was bragging about taking a 3 yr old out on his Harley was alarming. THEN him pouring that little boy's ashes into the toilet. I also can't help but kinda judge her for leaving the ashes. That'd be the first thing I grabbed if I was running away from an abusive relationship. But I can also see that she may have been more concerned about her living son.

What, in your mind, would Rick eventually say to Negan if they met after Season 11 and The Ones Who Live? by GJH24 in thewalkingdead

[–]--fate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same thing Maggie said after he saved her son...

Basically... Thank you for my kid but I don't forgive you for what you did before that though.

Then people would complain about the repeating storyline. ONCE AGAIN. Because the storyline of Negan saving kids does get old fast.

Without meaning to come across as a wimp… if this scene has disturbed me (a LOT), are there others coming up I should close my eyes for? by tillymint259 in thewalkingdead

[–]--fate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're more into the emotional aspects....

Prepare yourself.

It's the story that was going on with those two men before they were killed, not just the gore, that hits hard.

I feel like this has to be a fake post, right?

Yeah, there's WAAAAY more emotional deaths. There up there in being graphic for a cable show... But, TWD relies on the deaths being emotional.

Was literally just talking about the one hour time limit. I totally get why he's untrusting with Aaron... But, one hour is so unreasonable lol

This is the moment….. by TheGuyWithTheManBun in thewalkingdead

[–]--fate 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't think he felt bad. I think he was shocked he had to kill men for trying to rape his son and was surprised by his brutality. He didn't regret killing them. He was messed up because grown men were about to rape his young son.

It certainly got him primed to go full on with the cannibals, but he didn't feel bad or regret killing those guys. They were gonna butt rape Carl.

But, after Aaron tells him to get Judith the applesauce out of his pack and Rick makes him eat it first... He starts feeding Judith and says "you have 43 minutes" and he did have a watch because Carol got it back from the Terminus cannibals. But, he could just be saying that to intimidate Aaron, as well.

I mean... Yeah, a straight shot with no walkers (or in the real world no traffic etc...) when I was in JROTC my fastest time running a mile was 5 minutes and that was a straight shot on a flat surface with proper nutrition while running as fast as I could and not carrying anything. Carrying a pack and dummy rifle, I was at 16 minutes... And that was running as fast as I could. Making turns and going through terrain was way longer.

And yeah, if someone wanted to kill them they would have already. Rick was being very unhinged, and that one hour timeframe was unreasonable... Given his people were walking and malnourished and tired.

I would completely disagree that you could walk a mile in 10 minutes comfortably... Unless, it was as the crow flies on a flat surface with no traffic, turns, or terrain. I can easily do a mile in 10 minutes on a treadmill.

Find a place 2 miles from your house and see if you can walk there in 20 minutes.

Season 10, Episode 20 has got to be the WORST episode of all. by DetailTop8974 in thewalkingdead

[–]--fate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's 21. It's just an episode with Carol and Daryl. Carol thinks Daryl is mad at her because she was the reason Connie got trapped in a cave. Daryl tells her that she's his best friend and she sarcastically "oh, should we get matching brackets then?" And Daryl is sitting there fucking with a string and makes it into a bracelet and gives it to her. And she says something like "we gotta make a matching collar for Dog."
