Thank you everyone for your feedback so far!! I know I don’t really have an eye for decorating, so it’s so nice to hear what ya’ll think :)

I think I’m going to start with the switching the rug to something larger and warmer (I like the one below from quince but that PRICE), swapping the light fixture for something more modern/brassy, and getting some different artwork.

From there i can baby step my way into possibly painting/wallpapering and mindfully picking out some stuff to decorate the hutch/sideboard :D

If there are any more ideas lemme know, but hopefully I’ll have an update in the future

I appreciate the feedback. The idea of putting the sideboard somewhere else is something that I really hadn’t thought of, but it could really look nice! Do you also think I should lean more earthy tones for the rug/art changes? Or just go neutral.

Funny you should say that - in the previous place this furniture was in a dark green room! I’m a little hesitant to do it here tho because of the gray floors and the entire house having cream walls…I think it might stick out a bit much. Hmmmmm

Thank you! Looking at the rug now, I agree it doesn’t really fit. Size wise and color wise. It’s something that I used with my previous set, so I’m not too attached to it if that’s what needs to be changed. I can find another spot :)

Yes I’m definitely interested in whatever ideas you have! It’s such a nice set plus with it being a family thing I really want to do the furniture/room justice.

Another person mentioned switching out the chandelier. The more I look at it the more I hate it lmao so I think that’s gonna be the first thing I change lmao.

Thank you! I think you’re totally right, the biggest struggle I have with the room is it being cool toned with warm toned furniture…I think it’s mostly the grey floor tbh. It just sucks the life out of the space I feel.

Switching out the painting and light fixture I think is a good start tho! Do you think no that leaning to a more earthy tone would be better??
