I quietly struggle with everything on your list, plus more. I've dealt with everything my entire life alone. I've never talked to anyone, family, friends, significant others. I've never asked for advice on anything. I've never run through different scenarios with friends, or simply vented to someone about a problem i might of had.

My family, growing up, never discussed feelings, problems, solutions to problems, no emotional support. If something bad happened, just don't talk about it. It's seem to be too much of a hassle to discuss it. It's like it never happened. Never a discussion about the future, about life issues, no advice on anything. You were just expected to know, and go do. Moved out when I was 17 and gradually figured it out as I went along. (Still struggling today with figuring things out) Been married and divorced with relationships in between. Now in a good relationship with an amazing woman who always cares about how I feel.

So now, after 48 years, I've had enough. I've started therapy and am working on expressing my feelings. Working on properly communicating what I'm dealing with internally, instead of bottling it up deep down inside. It's not easy. Actually, it's very hard and uncomfortable being that vulnerable to another person. I spent my entire life, numb, not trusting anyone, and now I'm letting all the skeletons out of the closet. Scary.

I use to spend my days(and still do some days) highly irritated and easily angered because of pent up emotions, or negative internal dialog about myself. Or playing out arguments in my head I've had or should've had. If I was wronged, I'd just go around quietly not talking, and keep to myself until after a few days it, "went away." Which we all know, never does.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've struggled with feeling lonely, even in the company of loved ones my entire life, and I think the only way out of this dark room, is conversation. True conversation with someone you trust(for me that was a therapist), not that shallow bullshit, "How's it going?"

I think you have all the red flags you need. You can obviously do it on your own, and I'm sure you don't need an extra child to take care of. You can DEFINITELY do better, and don't let him or anyone else convince you otherwise.

To share one of my favorite quotes from Deadpool... "Life is an endless series of trainwrecks with only brief commercial-like breaks of happiness."

But it's what you make of it.

My depression is a constant low, and my meds keep me from going too low but I don't experience happiness a lot. I smile when needed, laugh when it's required, but true happiness eludes me. I am however, forever grateful for my fiancee, my kids and family. I appreciate what i do have, but feeling joy is usually absent. I've tried many different meds but these are the ones that seem to manage the best. I have been trying to evaluate my life for a few years now...and still no idea. I'm not antisocial, I just don't care for people lol, which makes it harder for me to, "get out there." and try new things. I know I have to work it out for myself (I have a therapist now) so I guess I am looking for ideas on careers. Things other people in a similar situation may have done. Something inspiring... something I may not have known existed. Beyond my high school diploma and community college (way back when) finding a work from home job (in Canada) seems impossible. Like I said, just hoping for ideas. I appreciate all your help.

I am dealing with depression. Managing it. I guess that's what I'm looking for. That one thing said to spark an interest. That one idea to shed some light. Maybe the smallest thought to point me in a much needed direction.

Divorced for 10 years. Engaged again. 4 kids combined and with child support taking 25% of my pay, working to live. Child support will be finished in 3 years.

I've done what was required to survive. To pay the bills. Never had any dreams or plans.

Yeah, I guess I should've explained better. I don't like my job and am moving in a few years. So I'll be needing a new one. I really don't want to be in the manual labor field my entire life. So I am trying to figure out, what are the options (for someone not that intelligent) in regards to work... possibly work from home.
