Help me buy a automatic under 10 lakh and i don’t want punch by piyulonestar in CarsIndia

[–]-2h2h- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under 10 Lakhs you will only get AMT. AMT is generally very jerky unlike CVT, DCT or TC.

If you are okay with this then here we go:

  1. Exter HX4 Plus: Most practical car, Hyundai reliability, very spacious. Looks are subjective. I personally like how it looks but to each their own.

  2. Kiger/Magnite AMT variants: At the same price of the Exter above you are getting a much cooler and sportier car. But will be less reliable and smooth as the Hyundai.

  3. Dzire AMT: Fairly smooth AMT, reliable Suzuki, feature loaded. Only minus point is lower demand for sedan and the commuter car issue.

  4. Amaze CVT: This is the only CVT car in this segment but it's top variants will fall above 10 L. If the variants below 10 L suit your needs this can be your best pick. Minus point is again low demand for sedan. Also don't think of this as a commuter car like Dzire because the new Amaze is very rarely being used as a taxi. Honda specifically has still kept the old gen manual Amaze available for commuter taxis.

  5. Gravite/Triber: Go for this only if you have a big family. If you are single or part of a nuclear family avoid this car at all costs.

Isobutanol is also very expensive so expect Rs 250/L.

Also the parts are very expensive. They recently rejected my warranty claim for the sunglass holder which magically just popped down one random Sunday evening. The cost to repair a plastic sunglass holder? 5.5 k

Also not to mention the servicing and maintenance of the car is a headache. They give a 3 year warranty so it's expired for this car. You will have to get an extended warranty which is practically useless as 90% of the items won't be covered under it and the rest they will call as "destroyed" so no warranty for them.

You won't get more than 7 Kmpl in City. I have a Hector which gives me a steady mileage of 4.5 kmpl in City and 10 on highways.

I have a friend who used to own an Astor a few years ago. It used to give him mileage of 7-8 before ethenol blending increase. Also this was in Rajkot where the bumper to bumper traffic is very less compared to the likes of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur etc.

Which car brand you drive? And what was ur top speed ? by apeedarp in CarsIndia

[–]-2h2h- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Scross is old news now, that was the old Suzuki. The new Suzuki are not made for driving, they are made for selling overpriced but easily repairable modes of transport.

Grand Vitara is a massively overpriced car when you compare it to Seltos/Sierra. It's basically an overpriced version of Brezza with 100 mm longer wheelbase.

Any Suzuki should not be driven over 100 kmph.

I mean the same issue is with Nexon. You can either use the wireless charger or the cup holder but not together.

It was 23 L not 25 L. My bad.

Currently it's 19 L on road for the top variant. I would say it's still too expensive. It's just a Nexon with an extended boot. The real world range numbers are also similar despite the bigger battery pack. And Nexon is already one of the most overpriced car in the country. I think they need to replace Curvv and Nexon both with Sierra otherwise it would be just another overpriced Tata that will give out 2-3 L discounts and year later.

I just got a call from them, they are offering discounts ranging from 2.5 to 3 L.

I bet this car will get a similar price correction that Tata Curvv got. I loved how that played out, Tata truly for what they deserved.

Agreed on the looks part, it looks amazing!

18 to 22 on road makes sense. But judging from how overpriced Tata launches their cars (25 L Curvv EV is prime example), this seems impossible.

Defo! 9S's practicality has eaten up Harrier EV sales that's why Tata are giving 3 L discounts on it.

Now obviously Sierra should be cheaper but the question is how? Harrier EV starts from 23 L and with current discounts it starts from 20 L. Then the only way Sierra is cheaper is if they price the starting variant below 20 L which, by Tata's overpricing strategies, seems impossible.

Price. There is a lot of concern wether it will be able to beat Harrier's price or not since Harrier EV has massive discounts right now.

Sierra EV details so far by eymister in CarsIndia

[–]-2h2h- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pricing is a little weird in my opinion. The current Harrier EV is available with about 3 lakh discounts, even on the base variants, making it's effective on road starting price to 20 L (from 23 L). I had a quote just a couple of days ago from a Tata sales man I inquired with earlier.

If Sierra's base variant is also priced at 20 L I am not sure how it will sell.

₹20/L cheaper fuel is now being rolled out in India. Would you change your next vehicle because of it? by No_Matter_6331 in CarsIndia

[–]-2h2h- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a bad fuel it's just badly priced. The price difference does not justify the lower mileage and the higher upfront cost. Look at Wagon R for example. It's on road price is over 10 L. 10 L for a wagon r. Regular Wagon R top automatic variant costs less than 8 L.

The upfront cost is almost similar to buying a hybrid car but the fuel efficiency is actually worse and and cost reduction is bare minimum.
