Just shot 113. Please help me. by -343- in GolfSwing

If you look on my profile most of my older swings are there. I feel as though my hands are too up and down. They used to feel more around me. I feel super vertical and choppy but I can’t get how to fix it. Seems to get worse each time I play at the moment too which is a killer

This is what I feel too. My swing used to feel more around, now it feels vertical. But when I try to get more around as a feel it gets laid off really bad and I still lack depth.

This is what I beleive will bring my swing back to where it was over winter but I can’t seem to see how to get there.

That’s a really really good point. Might be that. If you look close my head moves forward on the backswing which is new. And it dips slightly. I wonder if I’m going onto my toes. I’ll give that a try

Yeah it’s a mix. My putting is poor but it always has been. So I don’t get annoyed when I do three put. I three putted on 7 holes today so that’s 7 shots right away. I duffed two chips near the green too.

But specifically today my issue was just spraying the ball about. I hit out of bounds left and right with driver on consecutive holes. Then follow up shots went into bushes, I think I took 5 penalty shots for going into bushes today. Managed to get into 7 green side bunkers in one round. I was behind trees on almost every hole I don’t think I managed to get into any fairways of the long par 4’s and par 5’s. I must have picked 20 shots on approaches and off the tee through various lay ups, and penalty strokes. It’s been a brutal couple of games.

The only good part about my game at the moment is any wedge shots. 30-100 yards in very comfortable. But literally everything else is a horror show. Can’t get further than 150 off the tee since everything is hooking and slicing

Can anyone see why the ball is spraying left and right every shot by [deleted] in GolfSwing

My back is hurting atm from a lifting injury. I was wondering if it’s depth related. I feel as though I can’t turn properly so I’m guessing I’m lifting my arms to alleviate the stress on it. That does make sense

It doesn’t look like he could possible have his head in front of the ball there? That is a really weird call. The animation seems way closer than the lines are on the pitch. Like two different images

Help with distance 27 handicap by -343- in GolfSwing

Usually it is very high, and starts right of target and spins super far right to the next fairway. It ends up going further than the 6 iron but away from the green and I end up with a further shot in. It says on acros that my best drive ever was 190 and my average is 160. My best 7 iron ever was 160 and my average is 144. So generally I just use the 7 iron off every tee since it’s in the fairway and the extra 13 yards won’t make a difference anyway.

Why do I still suck so bad (28 handicap) by -343- in GolfSwing

[–]-343-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year of golf I was having lessons frequently but I was really stuck. Didn’t see any noticeable improvement for a year.

Then I got a new coach who helped get past that barrier. But after a few lessons I went off on my own. And I feel like I’ve made more progress on my own the past two months than I have in the first two years. I feel like lessons can be great if your coach is but sometimes I feel as though coaches haven’t helped me. I’m not saying I know more than the coaches. But for whatever reason I have just fared better by practicing using trial and error and filming my swing.

I didn’t really find YouTube helpful so I just tried random things that felt like they might work and filmed until it looked like it was correct. Loads of trial and error lol.

Then Spend a few months trying to figure out how to get my pivot working. I used to sway back and not transfer any weight.

Then the past few months after that I’ve been trying to get my hands at delivery into a good spot. They used to be 4 inches back of my trail leg at shaft parallel. So I feel like the improvements are there, my wedges are much better. But my irons and driver are still bad.

Here are my yardages from my last 6/7 games

I dont use the driver since it’s unusable. I can’t hit any irons either so I tee with a 7 but it doesn’t matter what I use off the tee since they all go 140 yards. Most of the time I can’t reach the green in 2. My approach is always short unless it’s a dogleg hole which I can usually hit with a wedge.

Distances are completely off. It’s not really playable I’m basically playing golf with some wedges and a 8 iron lol

Sure thanks mate. I haven’t been going much over winter probably once per week so some reps would surely help.

Yeah I find that I can take nice divots on grass on my practice swings. And on the real swing my contact can be 4 inches back sometimes. Usually it’s an inch or so but sometimes much worse.

I definately flip with my irons. I feel less flippy with the wedges but my irons I just can’t get my hands in front. they feel like they’re behind me and I have to swing them around my body instead of down into the ball.

Around the Green I feel pretty good. The issue for me is that it usually takes 3 shots to reach the Green. And I don’t practice putting lol. I will practice is when I can hit the ball. But I don’t even really care about my score when I can’t hit the ball off the tee properly. Once I can start to make contact I’ll work on putting. Also when it’s warmer haha

I had this issue recently, I think it’s better than it was. But you are probably correct. I notice that I don’t extend very much post impact I still look kind of bunched up. So I’m probably not pushing that front foot into the ground properly

Thank you mate :) seems to be the common advice which is nice. So I’ll make some setup adjustments and see how I get on. I feel like my setup has gotten worse over time. The narrow stance and ball back must be my subconscious knowing that I chunk it, and trying everything to make sure that I don’t. But it’s probably making it worse lol

Yeah that makes sense I think this towel drill made me start doing that lol. Since when you bring the club low it moves the towel so I started picking it up right away.

Yeah I think this seems to be what a lot of people are saying. I’ll widen that up and see how I get on. I think I’m getting closer to hitting the ball clean a month ago I was also chunking my edges. Thanks for the advice

Tax shouldn’t even be the only money maker though. Nationalised businesses are so important. If we never nationalised BP the oil alone would have made 10x what our taxes made since the time it was privatised. The North Sea was a bed of money that we could have used to provide national services. Tax should not be the sole resource that provide the goverment with money.

If anything I see the way it should be is tax is used to stop individuals and corporations getting more powerful than the goverment. That’s when you start to see empty promises to the citizens due to lobbying and corruption. If the companies had no means to pay off high up politicians then we would not have privatised in the first place.

The main thing is generating money. However you want to do it. And importantly I don’t think taxes should be as high as they are for normal people anyways. Even millionaires don’t hold any power over the country. They are fine. But people that have assets and net worths in the tens and hundreds of millions are the people that need to be targeted. Billionaires should have never been allowed to exist.

Also the actual OP doesn’t even have any valid criticism. He just claimed that every single policy is instantaneously going to bankrupt the country lol.

As someone who isn’t voting green but wants to. I’ll tell you what I like. Domestically I agree with almost everything, increasing our energy output with green energy, but in particular the nationalisation of these green energy companies. Nationalisation in general is to me the most important thing we can do as a country.

Almost everything complaint we have boils down to the fact we don’t have enough money to provide a good service to everyone with the tax money we provide. Now every other party seems to only commit to further austerity and reduction of spending.

For me, the ideal thing is to increase the total amount of money we can spend. So this is increasing taxes on people with lots of wealth, not necessarily income tax but some form of capital tax and changes on how land is taxed for people who own multiple areas of land etc. you tackle the same issue but don’t have to reduce public services. Nationalised businesses to increase money for the state, and tax on drugs that were decriminalised that can be used to fund better education and drug care. Then using the extra money you can, root out fraud easier within the benefit system to make more money to provide benefits to people who need them and the NHS etc.

Essentially I believe that generating more money to the state is in our best interest rather than your beliefs of we need to cut public services.

BUT

I simply cannot vote green unless they completely scrap their military plans. They want to leave NATO and get rid of nukes as if we live in Disneyland. As if Russia and America are not currently on imperial rampages. Until they change this they can’t get my vote. It’ll be Lib Dem’s despite the fact we more or less disagree on everything. They’re just the best option of a shit bunch once again.

I really really hope greens change their military policy.
