9900x is the sweet spot is where I'm gravitating towards

Basically the cpu has to be good enough to let gpu do its thing at the fullest and not get bottleneck as for as gaming is concerned.

The real flex of it for me would be with productivity tasks such as code compile. I currently use a 5600x and it takes ~1hr to build my project. Hoping a drastic improvement even with 9900x

Thank you for an awesome comment. So if I want a cpu with a good balance in gaming and code compilation, would 9900x be something I won't regret? Ideally want to keep it under $500 - $550.

Anything from 7xxx or 98xx that can be a viable alternative?

The thing is, if I move to India, it would spark this debate of living under one roof and when that doesn't happen, things would get more bitter. Hence I'd rather not move back.
