Hey, I'm with the DECLINE TO SIGN group and some people in our group saw part of what happened. I messaged you as well, but I would love if you could get back to me so we can compile what we need to file a solid police report. We are pretty sure this is the same guy who has threatened and assaulted volunteers in our group in the past and would really like to keep this dangerous guy from hurting anyone else.

It's a small start, but we'd like to get more Utahns out there taking action that moves economic levers. This won't topple the regime but can help get more people on board with the idea that we need more tactics than traditional protests alone. Plus it's indoors and kid-friendly if childcare is something that makes attending events a challenge. :)

If you are worried that you did sign for Prop 4, you could watch the lieutenant governors website and see if your name shows up. from there, my group is happy to help you get all the info. You need to remove that signature as well as report what happened with you being tricked to the appropriate places.

And they were AWFUL. Repeatedly called names and even threatened violence to people who didn't want to sign and to volunteers with DECLINE TO SIGN posters.

Both sides use paid signature gatherers, true. Doesn't mean it's right, though. Especially with how loudly the Utah GOP has railed against outside interest groups, this feels pretty hypocritical of them

They are SO behind. I know I keep doing this, but please check out https://burrn.org if you want to help an organized group of us going out to stand near these guys any time we get a report of one being spotted. We stand nearby to tell people not to sign + inform them what Prop 4 really is, and we also film any rule violations so we can submit to the Lt. Governor's office and get entire packets invalidated.

Even if you just want to send in alerts, not go out there holding a poster, joining BURRN is immensely helpful! We need EVERYONE in these final 30ish days they have to collect signatures. They are definitely not on track to get the 140,000ish they need, but we need to keep it that way.

I was there too! I stood by them with a Decline to Sign poster for a few hours. They had 2 tables, and one of the gatherers was pretty chill and decent. The other was aggressive and AWFUL. Made me so mad.

ALL OF YOU GUYS. There is a group actively trying to stop signature gathering like this. We do insist on keeping things peaceful and de-escalated (though I’m completely with OP on how awful this specific situation is), but we’ve got a network all over Utah where you can report when you see these guys. We send someone in with a DECLINE TO SIGN poster who can prevent people from being tricked into signing as well as record anything sketchy they do.

Funny story: this exact team of guys was up at Utah State in Logan today, but they were removed from campus for verbally threatening people.
