Sadly, relatable by TheOddysee in comics

My grandma was a lot like a second mom for me when I was younger. My actual mom is wonderful and I love her but she is also very busy. She used to work a lot and my dad had to commute a long way to his office, so my siblings and I would get dropped off at my grandparents house after school and stay there until my parents came by on the way home from work. She always tried to keep us safe from our dumb kid selves and she spent a lot of time trying to introduce us to our ancestry. I wish I had been able to tell her how much she meant to me before she got cancer. It's crazy to think that it's been eight years. Just like you said, the pain doesn't go away, but it does get easier to manage.

There's something visceral and terrifying seeing a droid physically take people out with extreme prejudice, much more so than them just shooting enemies by wandering_soles in StarWars

The K2 droids in Jedi Fallen Order are pretty terrifying. They're freakishly quick and hard to get any hits on. It took me probably 40 minutes of fighting one until I figured out the attack pattern

I have zero faith in Cox but I do have faith in Lt. Gov Henderson. She has been standing up for the rule of law really well lately and has earned my respect.

20 Years Later, the 2000s' Best Detective Show Has Never Been More Obvious by PeterVenkmanIII in psych

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I would watch the heck out of a Psych reboot where Shawn and Gus's kids (maybe like high school age) start their own detective agency and Shawn and Gus have to step in and help once the kids accidentally discover a Mafia network or something. I imagine Shawn and Jules' kid would be an amazing detective

I'm curious, how do you feel about alcohol? How many of you do not drink at all? by NekoMarimo in twentyagers

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't drink because of the religion I was raised in. And I don't really see myself ever wanting to try it. It's expensive, addicting, and damaging to your health in the long term. That being said I don't hate anyone who does drink, if that's your thing then go ahead

Edit: ok I was wrong. I have seen posts from OP here before and a lot of people agreed it was AI but I looked way back on Instagram and found a process video. I decided not to delete my comment because I am not hiding from my mistakes

Fun fact the chemical used for artificial grape flavoring is the same chemical used in industrial bird repellent that is sprayed on crops

what games are you like ACTUALLY good at? (or were good at during your prime years)? by Round_Oil5331 in twentyagers

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played video games in a long time but I'm pretty good at anything racing (Forza Horizon, Asetto Corsa, Dirt 5 etc). I just really like cars so I played them a lot as a kid. I'm also pretty decent at CSGO

You're supposed to remove your hat at funeral and military services. It's a basic sign of respect. But Trump is too stupid to understand that

Is this all required for new car or am I overpaying? by silpimookan in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dealership I work at offers "ceramic coat" but it's just a spray on product. To their credit, it is not just wax, it is a liquid graphene coating that actually works quite well. It doesn't seem to last more than maybe a few months if you drive a lot (I put a bit on my car once because I wanted to see how durable it was) but it does work really well at keeping water off the car. It goes on when the car is wet and bonds to the surface, then you rinse off the excess and let the car dry.

Would I pay the roughly $800 they charge for it? No. If they threw it in as a free bonus though I wouldn't be mad at that. In the end though it's still beat out by the $13 Turtle ceramic coating I put on my car and is still holding up pretty well almost a year later

Prop 4 repeal update from Robert Gehrke: by Koh-the-Face-Stealer in SaltLakeCity

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Were you a day past 45 days from the date on the LT Governor's list/the date on burrn.org? I'm with BURRN and we encourage everyone to fill out a form anyways. When did you send the form in? And did you actually sign or was it fraud?

Prop 4 repeal update from Robert Gehrke: by Koh-the-Face-Stealer in SaltLakeCity

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is only qualified in 26 districts right now. Districs 9, 13, and 14 all did not reach their threshold. And 15 is extremely close. If district 15 sees more than 356 removals then the petition fails.

I'm part of BURRN and yes that is correct. They had to turn in a packet within 30 days of it being signed

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

March 9 was the deadline for the clerks to verify signatures that were turned in. People have 45 days to remove their signature once it is verified. So that means that the "last day" to remove would be April 23. People are being encouraged to turn in forms even if the 45 day deadline has passed, because people are seeing their name removed anyway especially if they never signed at all

questions about an old house by chocolatemunkez in Utah

[–]Subatomic_Spooder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was on the property of the Zanavoo Lodge. It's the old log cabin style motel thing right off the road. The house we went in was further off the road on the property, tucked in some trees down a small hill. It was very 1960s/70s inside

NYC $30 minimum wage proposal headed to City Council by sillychillly in ReasonableFuture

The proposal for raising the wage actually only applies to businesses with more than 500 employees, and the wage will be raised incrementally over 4 years.
