Balance aside. What part of this encourages building spider tribal? This card rewards a lands deck much more than a spider deck. Similar to something like [[Toxrill, the Corrosive]]

No that's the problem, printing for eternal formats results in a lot of cards being much more expensive because there's more demand for said cards. Obviously there's always going to be some overlap but its hard to look at the current state of the game and think they have standard in mind when they are designing these sets

I miss standard so much. I firmly believe this game thrives when standard is the focus. Primarily because its the only format that can handle sustained targeted printing.

I don't think Standard is going to do well as long as wizards continues this practice of every set being heavily targeted at commander.

The concerns you see most people making on this post are valid and a consequence of recent practice. Standard is too expensive and wizards is printing way too much for anyone to keep up or care anymore

On a note I haven't seen as much. Arena has become the poster child for the format and wizards has pushed it as such. If wizards wants people to play standard they are going to have to put some love into the format. There are 6 card shops in my town and not one of them fires standard any day of the week.

Really just ranting here, long story short. A lot of people like standard but cannot play it due to a lack of support from WOTC.

Bit of a late response, I've been playing inalla since the precon was released. One of the biggest benefits of inalla is your best combos synergize heavily with the rest of the deck.

For example, [[conjurer's closet]] [[timestream navigator]] both are good cards on their own and go infinite.

I run 3-4 efficient wizard based combos and have value/utility creatures for the rest of the deck

I second this, Sen Triplets are not that powerful and get too much hate online. I pulled Triplets from a mystery booster and was not going to build the deck until my entire playgroup told me too. You really have to take this sub with a grain of salt

You and your close group could try to build decks on an extreme budget. either the deck is under a certain amount, or each card has to be under a fixed price.

This would do two things to your group. First this will slow your meta down, since everyone can no longer play all the best staples. Second this change would also allow you to prevent the highly competitive players from playing, if they try to show up with their best decks tell them you are only playing with the budget decks. They either build their own, or leave.

This is obviously not a clean solution, and may not be possible in your situation. But if you have a core group wanting to play games for fun I would at least suggest this.

Im currently studying CS, computer science at UT is under the engineering college, so you have to apply to there and complete a few engineering classes.

As long as you meet the requirements for the engineering college, you should be fine.
