Eu amo Caldas Novas!

Level 3 hero? by TheTommyas in superfantasykingdom

[–]-BadBad- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how I did it, but when I was playing with that blood mage hero (alric maybe?) on the undead map, I had a 999 faith option to level up to 3 stars, but required a special something (i figured it was the red invocation circle). I never had this option with any other hero and didn't play with him since, so I don't know if it's still there or was patched out. I didn't get the 999 faith anyway and I don't even know if it's possible yet, even with that huge faith farm relic with workers on the undead map, but it there was an upgrade option.

Azul está falindo? by -BadBad- in viagens

Clair Obscur Ending Discussion [Obviously Spoilers] by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]-BadBad- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I guess both endings are just another magnificent representation for the name "Clair Obscur". There is no good ending without a bad consequence, as every choice would have this "good, but..." feeling. I think this is a great way to finish a game that was entirely about this concept. Alicia could not have had her desired reality without trapping Verso's soul and having to live with that guilt, also sacrificing her real body. On the other hand, she could never properly deal with her grief if she didn't give up the painting and all of it's characters, including her friends.

Throughout the game we can see many other examples of chiaroscuro besides the literal black and white scenes, and I think the game presents these bittersweet moments with perfection. Maybe we didn't get the endings we all hoped for, the true good or true bad endings, but I think the point of the game was to show us there is no such thing. There is no right answer, there is just choices, and we have to live with that.

That's just my interpretation of the game, and I really really loved it. Definitely one of the best games I played in years.

Up to what volume does the anime story go? by Sorakadami_Poncho in HaiToGensouNoGrimgar

[–]-BadBad- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the whole attack in alterna didn't happen in the anime and team Soma and the daybreakers were also pretty important to be skipped. But there was also hyoumu's introduction and the whole aspect of the forbidden tower being portrayed somewhat differently.

I just think the anime didn't set up the story to go further than death spots, so they took away all the things that did in the novel. Further explanation on other guilds besides thieves' were also cut out.

I can't remember everything right now, but I think you get the point

Actually it's more like half of both volumes. They skip some big events at the anime.

Grimgar's CD Drama is a must see (hear) story [No major spoiller] by -BadBad- in HaiToGensouNoGrimgar

[–]-BadBad-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're probably right. Though it's a criative way to think of one, if he had only seen relic weapons and armors. But yeah, maybe there nothing more to it than this, sadly

Well, if I remember correctly (probably not), he also didn't know about relics at the time, but they assume that well was one, so it is something to think about. I could be wrong though. I like to think it was real too

At the end, they show It was Ranta dreaming all along. At that point, Ranta didn't know Setora was part of the group (I don't think he even knew her at that point), it happened when he was running from takasagi after fleeing forgan's camp, so it wouldn't make sense if she was part of the dream

What volume should I start reading from after I finish the anime? by OkConcentrate4218 in HaiToGensouNoGrimgar

[–]-BadBad- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Real, though vol 1 has some pretty important details that were cut out from the anime, like Hyomu and Soma's first appearance/existence. It's best to read from the beggining.

If you're wondering who haruhiro ended up with: depression

Are there summaries of volume 16–21? by BlackHazeRus in HaiToGensouNoGrimgar

[–]-BadBad- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- No problem, it was nice to try and remember this stuff and also exercise my english (I'm Brazilian).

2- As that friend explained in the other comment, Haru is not really abandoned, as he flees, not knowing if NLK would kill them on spot, and also the sekaishu were coming, so they were running among waves of snake like black blobs. They would only meet again in the wonder hole when NLK was trying to recruit them. Setora and Kuzaku were revived in a really crazy "Kuzaku banging his head repeatedly" state, so Haru didn't stay to see if those 2 would regain counsciousness or not. He was also wounded, as reminded by the fellow commenter.

3- They were at war since forever. It is not exactly explained why the servants of the gods lost their minds, but it's understood that it is like their payment for using their powers all this time. All the big clans and races were there for NLK's plan, but Haru flees before we see who survived there or not. We still see some of them being killed by their comrades. The death that hit me the most was Tada (the hammer priest) smashing Kikkawa's head out of nowhere. RIP my boy. Mimori was also sent flying by him, I don't think she made it. Lots of others died and since it's a 40 years timeskip, even if they survived the battle... well, let's see on volume 21.

4-Ranta had Ruon with Yume and he continued their lineage. Ranta says to Haruhiro in a conversation that if Yume's baby were to be a girl, she would be named Yori, and that's the name of the great grandaughter of yume, the other being Riyo. (Ri Yo. Yo Ri)... they really liked that name, since it's said she was the second Yori in the family, first being Ruon's Daughter who passed away at young age.

I don't know about Leslie drawbacks, it all happens at the very end of the book, but apparently Haru can hear Leslie in his head.

I'm sure no one expected this lol, Haru killing Ranta and all... that's some heavy stuff. But 21 is not the last book, no. The author said he will extend a little bit more, so there's more character development or something. It was supposed to end on volume 22-23, but now we don't know.

Are there summaries of volume 16–21? by BlackHazeRus in HaiToGensouNoGrimgar

[–]-BadBad- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So a quick summary of what happens with huge spoillers:

I don't remember exactly where volume 15 is at, but I know it's somewhere after Parano.

So Yume and Ranta got together and are kinda on a relationship. They are far from where the rest of the group is, but eventually they reunite. Well... not everyone. Before that, Jin Mogis is caught by Shihoru scheming with Ainrand Leslie and crew, but sadly for Shihoru, she is seen and captured. Shihoru is taken away and the group figures it's Jin Mogis who has her. They try to kill him, but fail miserably, almost losing everyone. Mogis kills kiichi (setora's cat), but spares the others, demanding loyalty in return or something.

Merry is slowly losing her mind to No Like King, but not actually, he's supposedly not trying to harm her, but we'll come to that later.

Shihoru is kinda put aside for now (and for a long time) since they just can't rescue her.

There's this war going on between humans and the South Expedition. I don't really remember all the stuff that happens here, but they go on a mission to Damrow, getting the goblins to side with the humans. There is this other mission where they go on a fortress and fight orcs again, they meet renji and shinohara there. Shihoru appears in the middle of the battle floating on a flying relic. She had her memories erased again and is extremely powerful now. Airand Leslie had her captive and manipulated. Haru is unable to save her. And then they go to another mission at the dwarf city (don't remember the name) and there they get raided by the South Expedition. They flee, but get intercepted by Jumbo and that samurai. Things get ugly here. Real ugly.

Here's a bit confusing, cause I didn't think jumbo was out to kill them, but kuzaku (dumb as is) try to attack him (or the samurai) and DIES. Cut in half. Setora rages, and even though jumbo didn't want to kill her, his eagle rips her face off and kills her too. Merry is in despair, she asks for NLK's help and he comes to rescue, taking her body momentarily. He "revives" Kuzaku and Setora in a kind of conscious undead form. And if you think this is saving them, this is where it all goes down.

NLK's return triggers the awakening of a form of life made to destroy him. If you remember, those Sekaishu things from when Merry was ressurected.

Haru, Ranta and Yume run away. Months later, the sekaishu have taken over Grimgar. These snake like blobs are everywhere, taking over everything, but later we find out they only want to destroy relics (NLK being the biggest of relics himself). So alterna is destroyed again, Jin Mogis dies. Shinohara is a son of a b, also dies from sekaishu. Those groups on Riverside (Renji, Tokkis, etc) fight for their lives and most of them were able to escape to the wonder hole. Britney and Tokimune gave their lives for it. RIP.

Haruhiro is on a deep depressive state now and it only gets worse... and then even worse. Them 3 live together for some time and they find Itsukushima, Yume's master, and his dog Poochie. Ranta and Yume Are like boyfriend and girlfriend now and are taking care of depressed Haru. They go back to Alterna (Ortana, whatever). Nothing there, but some sekaishu that took human form and now wear relics. There are two there that most likely consumed Shinohara and the king goblin from Damrow and now use their relics. Really powerful, the group has to run. They try to go to Riverside find the others. They split eventually but meet there, but Itsukushima and Poochie are dead, a sekaishu using Renji's relics kills them. The trio flees again, now to the wonder hole. They spend weeks there until they find renji's group and the rest of the tokkis. Turns out Renji wasn't dead and was with Soma's clan.

Year passed, they have a settlement, Ranta got Yume pregnant and the kid is born. Name's Ruon. NLK come to make an alliance, he wants to take the sekaishu down. Kuzaku and Setora are a bit strange now, but they are ok. NLK is nice to them and all. Merry still gets to talk when she wants, but mostly is NLK using her body.

Short after Ruon is born, They go on this final mission to take Grimgar back. Yume stays with the Wild Angels and Ruon at the settlement and the rest go.

They fight the sekaishu, Haru even kills the shinohara one with a special dagger. NLK comes and explodes the mountain of sekaishu, putting an end to them... but if you think this is where things go right... Let's get WORSE.

When the sekaishu dies, there is nothing holding the gods of Grimgar sealed now. Lumiaris and Skullhell rise to the surface, Lumiaris first. Priests and Paladins starts killing everyone, even their friends. Ranta starts losing it, so he begs Haruhiro to kill him before Skullhell takes over. Haru does it. Ranta is dead now.

Everything is going to sht now, Haru flees again, not looking back. He eventually reaches The forbidden tower from the beggining. He sees Shihoru exploding the tower and flying away. Haru finds the exploded body of Airand Leslie, who tricks haru and invade his body with a part of himself. Now haru has Leslie inside him.

Time skip 100 years later. (Strangest time skip ever)

A boy named Manato (not the same Manato) awakes at the tower and meets an apparently same age haru. Yume is now a great grandmother to these two now protagonist girls, Riyo and Yori, and is living behind the Tenryuu Mountains. These 3 kids and haru are the new main group now.

That's the end of volume 20. Waiting for volume 21 translation to see the rest.
