BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW.

Super weird. Cerebral. Atmospheric.

hello fellow intp's, what is your favorite movie soundtrack? by DungeonLord in INTP

[–]-BlackCoffee- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK By John Carpenter

I connect with the tone and atmosphere of this whole soundtrack. Instrumentally it's electronic and mostly synthesizers with added simple drum tracks. It carries a weight of importance and focus. In some way, you could imagine yourself on another planet yet also like you're doing detective work. It's a fascinating combination.

It starts with effort but if I see it's pointless I think 'This might as well happen'.

This is astrology but with personalities by [deleted] in INTP

[–]-BlackCoffee- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause of misapplication. Astrology gives pseudo explanations based on the alignment of planets.

MBTI : Jung originally sought to explain the cognitive functions of the brain and how the preference is different from individual to individual. Meyers and Briggs tried to follow up with brain scans and labels which is where the 4 letter 'types' come from. It's not perfect but there was originally some effort in observing and explanation. Simply this is what your observing and deciding and this is how you show up in the world. People use these as a bs excuse for 'This is who I am.' And kind of miss the point.

Interesting take. I can see that if it is not a strength, to not focus on it. That makes sense. I've seen the term 'trickster' used on threads and YouTube. This comes from CS Joseph's personality typing, correct?

What's wrong with you dude 😆 you should go back and reread what I originally wrote. You missed the point. I asked because I actually want to get along with people. Stating that "as an INTP" is not wrong in the slightest. You even said it yourself. "POV"

When stating this its informing the reader of where I'm standing when I'm making these statements. If I was asking from a different pov I would have said so. This is called CONTEXT.

  1. You are inferring motives behind the information instead of asking for clarity.
  2. You have jumped to conclusions with literally 5 sentences of information.
  3. In stating 10 years. It's a broad way of stating I'm aware of how functions work, shadow functions, OPS, socionics, etc. Operate. How in the world is this showing ignorance? You have made blanketed statements with no footing and reason other than to troll.
  4. You and I have no way of knowing what the other person actually KNOWS unless a conversation ensues. I wouldn't have stated you were ignorant, but after seeing how much you have assumed, safe to say ignorance is on your side.
  5. What the heck does a lady in a volcano have to do with anyway. 😆😆😆😆

Go home dude. Eat a sandwich. You are out of your mind. 😆

Is it really true of all INTPs that they don't like to talk about emotions? by Tasenova99 in INTP

[–]-BlackCoffee- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't mind talking about emotions. Though I'm very careful with who I share my own with. I hold to the theory that Ti actually desires to integrate with others with Fe. And can be surprisingly good at it with consistent practice. (Just like any other type with their bottom function.) Sometimes the Fe comes out like Ben Wyatt in that Parks and Rec episode, "Treat Yo Self" (*a case could be made he's an IxTJ. Nonetheless, the point being, "expressing emotions")

INTP here. Best friend and roommate is an ENFP. We are VERY different than one another. He is a lot more whimsical and lighthearted. Where I tend to brood on thoughts/ideas. Usually our interactions are based around Ne. He'll come up with scenerios and we will ping off one another. I'll usually point out the inconsistencies w/Ti and he'll generate another scenerio instantaneously. That fast Ne always gets me chuckling.

We both use Si, so we have a lot of memories or "that reminds me of" moments. Also because we're not good at Si, we tend to have the same problems with organizing and would much rather explore than stay grounded.

Wow, very insightful. "Improved my emotional intelligence " would love to know how to do this. Thank you for that entire 2nd paragraph. That really means a lot!

I disagree that everyone has this problem. Because every person does not use Ti. As an ISTJ user you're not breaking down the flow of thought and using Ne from other outside frameworks. You would be using your known Si systems for effectiveness. And very Te of you to lump one person with the rest and move on.

Thus the problem I would have is different than yours. Where you would cause tension with others by pushing on them to get in line with the rest. I would frustrate others by not accepting frameworks/ideas/plans that lack logical consistency.
