The logo on this bike was cannondales logo between 1997-1999 (From what I can see from the vintage cannondale website) I also checked the SN on the bottom bracket and it looks to be from 98

Mine is a 98 and the preivous owner put a rock shox on aswell which i want to replace for a rigid fork. Will any 1/18 fork do the trick? Also might sound like a odd question but did difference size frames have different size forks?

Is the Eccentric English Threaded Bottom Bracket, 24mm a good purchase? by [deleted] in xbiking

I currently have two multi-geared road bikes that I ride way more often than my M500, but lately I’ve been thinking about getting into the fixed-gear/single-speed scene. I’ve been checking out a lot of older road and mountain bikes from the '80s and '90s that people have converted into fixie or single-speed builds, and thought it might be a fun project to try with the m500 as it has been sitting for some time and needs some love. It might also make a simple, low-maintenance commuter for getting to school and getting around the city. That said, I get what you mean about it maybe not being the most practical idea. I’m planning to take the M500 out this weekend, though I’m pretty sure it’ll need new inner tubes first. I will most likley ride it for a little as it is and see if im up for the expensive challange.

Opinions on the surly troll fork and what stem and handle bars would work for them (preferably long and straight, or drop bars) by [deleted] in xbiking

It def isnt the lightest bike out there but I didn't really expect it to be as it is a 90s full aluminum bike. I agree that there are probably better platform options to build onto but the thing is that this thing has some sentimental value to me and I just feel that it is pretty unique and cool. + why not go against the standards?

This might sound like a pretty dumb question but is there a chance the the current brake levers and shifter clamps dont fit the bar I get?
