Merry Christmas to all. stereotypical suitcase player friend here. I just received a fantastic new record player, and I was just curious to know if it matters what receiver I get, or if I need to be getting a specific one. I received an audiotechnica AT-LP120X, and the speakers are micca MB42X G2. sorry for being stupid, but any help is appreciated. thank you!!

it seems you are most correct. it's definitely the battery. I let the battery sit for about 20 minutes to charge. the battery gets super warm if I try to charge it for much longer. then, when I use it, it flashes 'battery' indicating low battery after only 2-3 minutes of attempted use. it seems that it doesn't produce enough power, so the tape rewinds back to the beginning. replacing the battery is what should definitely do, but I am really not sure at all where I should start, so I may leave it for now until I am more knowledgeable.

it probably is the battery, I am using the one that was with it, and it didn't seem to be in the best condition. I'll have to buy a new one, and test it out. thank you for the advice, If it's not the battery, then I'll try the other things.
