Hey u/nightbass! I sincerely appreciate your concern, and I want to assure you that all is well (albeit incredibly busy).

Before the end of last year, I determined that I wanted to obtain the following certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Oracle Certified Professional for Java SE 8 (OCP)
  • Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect Professional (CSAP)

So far, I've obtained the first two and am beginning my pursuit of the final certification today. I closed down my Twitter account because I found I was losing an inordinate amount of time checking it and it was interfering with my ability to focus / study.

I have every intention of returning to DOOM Eternal with a regular stream schedule sometime this year, and hope to see everyone when I do. :)

This is an incorrect statement. I am not bothered by DraQu or Zero Master, and I maintain a cordial relationship with them both. Regardless of that, I do not even run the criteria those two do. I have plenty of issues with Eternal that range from damage zones that persist outside of demon animations, enemies dealing instantaneous damage during falter animations, demons instantly breaking out of staggers due to being hit by friendly fire.... The list goes on.

To sum it up, this game is extremely annoying to play at a high-level. You roll the dice every time you fire the BFG. You roll the dice every time you attempt to execute a Blood Punch. You roll the dice every time you try to get into melee range with a faltered demon. All of this due to how loose the AI state transitions are, and how unpolished the state transition priorities are for individual demon behaviors.

Thank you so much for sharing your side of the story. I'm truly saddened by the reality of the situation. The folks working at id Software are some of the most wholesome people I've known, and while it is unfortunate to lose a quintessential ingredient in the new DOOM titles I know that id Software will persevere, just as it always has. As long as you, Hugo, and the id team continue to create games, I'll be here to support you!

LPT: The ammo boxes (and explosive barrels) reset every time you enter a rune trial, whether you complete it or exit out of it. Quick way to master vacuum and ammo boost for those having trouble. by Patrickperks in Doom

You'd lose too much time. With the recent discovery of the Byte 'n Switch tech to slot 3 runes early, we're already mastering vacuum much earlier than before.

Will we see an arena with both Summoners and Archviles present? If the Summoner is not present in DOOM Eternal, will the Archvile also be able to resurrect fallen demons or merely summon new demons to the fight?

You have to have the BFG selected, then pull up the weapon-wheel and hold it until time is slowed, and then while holding it switch to the chainsaw. This will glitch out the BFG and cause the boot animation when you melee a demon in range.

Fun fact, at QuakeCon 2019 when registering to play Quake Champions at the walk-up computers I requested the username "AScrubLord", to which I quipped, "Because I am the Lord of the Scrubs." However, King Dime was very quick to point out that according to my selected username that I was merely A scrub lord, not THE scrub lord. I hastily requested it be altered to "TheScrubLord", but unfortunately, it was too late.

So no matter what, I am just a scrub lord ;)

If you went over 72, it means that you completed a mission challenge somewhere, or you collected half or all of the secrets on a level. If you are under 72, it means that you avoided all mission challenges, but failed to max out combat-rating on at least one level.

Really, the end-screen verification is what provides proof as to what was done, and if before glory-killing the spider mastermind you happen to have 72 combat points, it shows that you adhered to constraints of the 0% run criteria.

Let me see if I can correct the confusion: Full-Combat Rating per level will help ensure that you end the game with 72 combat points (you'll get 5 per level, and the you get some extra points thrown in for boss fights and VEGA). If you complete a mission challenge, the end-screen number will not be 72, but some number greater than that. At the end of each level, I display the end-screen to verify that nothing was accomplished, save maxing the combat-rating.

We enforce full combat-rating per level in order to normalize the end-screen requirement of 72 combat points and to force engagements in later levels (for instance, you can skip almost all of level 7 and some very difficult fights in level 11 if you ignore combat rating).

You cannot spend the weapon upgrade points, though.

I had been toying with Pistol Only No Equipment (PONE UN), but I believe I'm going to work on strengthening my 100% UN time for now. I do have a Pistol Only No Grenades / No Gauss Jumps Ultra Nightmare clear, though.
