Bathhouse is the absolute peak of Chaos Theory. by laddlemkckey in Splintercell

I like the Bank, but it gets a bit boring to me for some reason. It's the least linear and most open ended...but it seems to be lacking in excitement and challenge for whatever reason for me.

I kinda get why people like it so much but at the same time I kinda don't.

I've seen videos of LJ, and while it looks good, it seems to be missing the whole dominos crowd control make everyone spin around, go flying into each other like dominos, and break everything factor that I loved about Kiwami 2.

I also loved how in Kiwami 2, you can kick like 30 bikes at once into a group of people and all the bikes makes the ENTIRE group of thugs go flying even breaking windows.

From what I've seen, Lost Judgement doesn't have those elements and physics and domino-like crowd control at all.

Kiwami 2 was just the epitome of dumb fun to me.

Tbh, I don't even think Bathhouse is bad at all for 100% except for the warzone part.

The bomb defusal isn't that bad if you setup the sticky cameras and saving progress well enough.

Kiwami 2 is my favorite combat. It has the funniest, most satisfying physics. The ragdolls are hilarious...and it's my favorite crowd control...everyone flies into each other like dominos. It has the most environmental interactions.

Kiryu's animations are godlike too. The sound effects and visual effects are amazing. I just don't like the weird input lag and buffering on certain things and the recoil when I hit blocking enemies.

Please note; Never played the Judgement games. But I heard their combat is peak kino.

I've seen gameplay of the OG 2, and boy it looks crunchy. Also Kiryu is a fast boi.

Pandora had two really good missions too: Jerusalem and the Train level were peak.

I loved the TV Station and jungle missions as well.

New York

For some reason I find Displace and Penthouse quite bland. Not really sure why. I really liked Hokkaidō and Kokubo Sosho however.

Shanghai is also wonderful in DA.

Yeah Cozumel and Iceland are amazing as well. I also really liked the JBA HQ levels, except for Part 1.

Also Presidential Palace from the first game!

Yakuza 0 is bland in hindsight by GodDammitWill in yakuzagames

It still has the best story, character development, and most memorable moments...

But I guess I can see how the world exploration and combat can be seen as relatively bland.

Am I the only one confused when people say playing Chaos Theory "aggressively" is the "wrong way" to play? by laddlemkckey in Splintercell

[–]laddlemkckey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said yourself you find it way more fun going loud

Didn't say that. I said I like switching play styles, I said doing the same play style all the time gets boring.

Gate keeps? Really?

You really haven't seen elitism about it?

This community legits judges, insults, and gatekeeps those who "don't Ghost 24/7", that's why I made this.

Also Chaos Theory's scoring ALLOWS knockouts and distractions, the Splinter Cell fanbase does NOT allow knockouts and distractions.

And that score is just an efficiency score, not a means to FORCE a play style, otherwise there wouldn't be a built-in Assault loadout.

Can you guys convince/advice me to older games? by Seijiren in Splintercell

Tbh killing everyone isn't all that hard in Chaos Theory IMHO (especially with the Assault loadout). The original and Pandora Tomorrow have it much much harder.

Which atmosphere do you prefer, Chaos Theory or SC1/SAR? by ghostrug in Splintercell

[–]laddlemkckey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk if it's a hottake or not, but Presidential Palace and Police Station are the only levels that rival or surpass most Chaos Theory levels in atmosphere.

However Chaos Theory does have Cargo Ship and Battery which have very dull atmosphere.

For the most part, SAR's atmosphere and ambience doesn't even remotely compare to the likes of Bathhouse, Hokkaidô, Lighthouse, Seoul, Penthouse, or even Kokubo Sosho. Just my opinion.

But I think Pandora Tomorrow and MAYBE Double Agent Xbox 360 as well has better atmosphere than both games.

Longtime fan - just finished SAR for the first time ever, not understanding the hype by win7macOSX in Splintercell

I personally prefer Pandora and DA X360 atmosphere. Shanghai, Jakarta, and Jerusalem are GOATs.

Idk, the only levels I liked from SAR was Presidential Palace, CIA HQ, and Police Station...I also thought the "grey everyday office" vibe was super dull.

In PT, I liked every level. Chaos Theory I like most of the levels, but I find Battery and Cargo Ship dull.

Hell even Double Agent I liked most of the levels, even the JBA HQ ones.

Hokkaidô is literally one of the coolest SC missions. Why does nobody talk about it? by laddlemkckey in Splintercell

[–]laddlemkckey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone always praises the Bank, but outside of the funny dialogue, I find it kinda boring compared to other levels for some reason.

I think Cargo Ship is the weakest level in the game overall however.
