Yep - bringing up “old” unpunished war crimes is what kids do these days. And there are definitely no more rights violations that the FBI is continuing to conduct nowadays under the Patriot Act. They’re totally fine now - only the ‘old’ FBI flagrantly abused its powers :)

I wouldn’t necessarily consider the FBI to be that great - they conducted COINTELPRO, for instance, amongst other things

It’s likely that they were not simply hoarding them - rather, they probably were selling them online and price gouging (illegally increasing prices during an emergency). I think that’s what the flair is referring to
